Picked up at the store:

From Here to Eternity
Lawrence of Arabia
The Outlaw Josey Wales (the one with the commentary and extra features)

Not bad for 4.99 each!

Cheap price, though they are the only site on the entire Internet listing it for sale at the moment.

Looks like they pulled the listing for Person of Interest S3. I went ahead and ordered Revolution S2...

AH, I see why now. I was searching "person of interest blu" but the 3rd season says BD instead of blu.

Game of Thrones Season 1 & True Blood Season 2 are both just $7.99 each on the website. They are sold out online. However, if you can locate them in-store, they should match their website price.

Yeah, that Game of Thrones version isn't in stores anymore. It was replaced long ago with the one that includes the DVDs now.

I see there are double rewards points right now too. There are 40 titles listed online, but I already own most of them, or don't want the others. I wonder if stores may have some different ones. I recall there being some Savestation titles I wanted, but don't remember what...

Until when is that sale? Does it happen fairly frequently, i.e. every few months?

Interesting. I just noticed I got Elite Plus for another year, but I only spent $1700 last year. I know they were honoring the old $2500 requirement for this year, but I definitely didn't qualify... I was expecting to be downgraded to standard Elite...

The last time they had it, it only lasted one week. Online does not say. If anyone sees signage in-store, please post the end date. I think the last time they did it was first week of December, IIRC.

I think they're struggling big time. Same thing with me, I know I didn't spend the minimum required to keep the Elite Plus status. Also, has anyone received a "Thank You from Best Buy" that's a really long survey? I got one last week and responded accordingly. And the oddest thing happened after, I got a personal email from the store manager and a phone call asking for my opinions and why I responded the way I did. I've never had that happen before. So I'm guessing they're trying to gauge why they keep losing business the have been.

If your business model continually changes, it will lose and confuse the consumer. It's rather pointless to call customers and gauge their opinions. One part of upper management is making the changes (i.e., the guys who are desperate to make stockholders happy with unreasonable expectations) without any proper understanding of their customer base...and the lower management (the people in the stores who actually know what makes a store work) are fielding and making the calls.

Typical business failure.

Yep.

Dear Best Buy,

Here are the problems with your stores:

1. You are focusing on too much high margin product. It seems like half of your floor space is taken up by phone cases, cables, chargers, and adapters.

2. I realize that media like CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays aren't selling like they were in the past, but your selection sucks. It's like you emptied the Walmart bargain bins and filled your DVD and CD shelves with that crap. And it's poorly organized, too. I have no idea how, with so much empty shelf space on your media racks, they can still look so sloppy and it's still impossible to find things I want.

3. Your stock sucks. Just an example... four years ago I went to Best Buy to purchase a new laptop. I was looking for a mid-priced laptop for around $500-$800. When I went into your store, you had a number of laptops on display that I would have purchased, but none of them were in stock. The only laptops you had in stock were the Celerons you were trying to blow out at

re: Best Buy / bestbuy.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

That last line was my last line in my survey. And your first 3 points and 5 were my gripes as well. I know physical media isn't making the profit, but it did bring people in. I figured it was good for at least that. It's not like that massively large space for Samsung junk is faring any better.
