Absolutely. I'm in total agreement. I'd always give them a fair chance and a benefit of the doubt but if they don't have it I won't comprimise

I'd rather pay a buck more to have it delivered to my doorstep now.
My last several TVs have all been from Fry's Electronics. If there's 1 thing they still do right, they have some great prices on certain TVs, but you can't go in with a particular model in mind. You have to wait for their ad (where they almost always say "major name brand" and refuse to give you the model number or SKU in the ad) and then call them up to get the model number (if you can get through which is often difficult) to see if you want it. With enough patience, you can get some great TV deals there.

Every time prior to my last 2 TVs, I had tried to PM at BB first, and every time they actually had the model in stock, verified the PM and stock at Fry's while making me wait, and when they went for manager approval, every time it was the same mean manager (the guy who always denies mfg Qs) and he always vetoed it with the excuse "sorry, it's below our cost" or "the Fry's price is not legitimate because they sell gray market" or other BS. After striking out every time with the same manager (who is still manager there), I learned it was a waste of time. Now with BB's lower inventories, you probably can't even find the right model any more.

I would buy from Amazon except I don't know what would happen if I decided to return it or got bad pixels and wanted to exchange it. I know that Amazon blacklists people if they do too many returns or special requests. So it's pretty much Fry's for TVs only. BB is not even in the running. I'd go to Walmart and Target except they almost never have the same models. Fortunately I'm not looking for any TVs now, and if I did buy another TV it would be a 3D set. I'll never buy another non-3D TV because I like 3D for movies and games.

re: Best Buy / bestbuy.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Best Buy is moving away from media because it's increasingly a product bought by older and older consumers. Their prime casual customer demo has always been males aged 18 to 30. That age group is buying few, if any, media products anymore outside of downloads and streaming. Everyone in that age group is still obsessed with cell phones, so there you have it.
All I can say to that is: Get off my lawn!

Wonder what'll happen if Best Buy goes under- that'll leave us with NO major electronics chain. Maybe Fry's would expand to more cities?

I would hate for Best Buy to go under. Here in Hawaii, they're a good alternative to get electronics at decent prices (even better now that they price match all the major online retailers) without expensive shipping charges. Amazon won't ship TV's to Hawaii.

I happened into BB today and got a Steelbook The Dark Knight Rises with some exclusive docu for $7.99.

Also they had a dump bin of TV seasons for $8.99:
Dark Angel Season 1
Cleveland Show Season 1
Millennium Season 1
Alien Nation Complete Series
Buffy Season 1

And a half dozen other series sets.

Also there was a display of $9.99 and $12.99 BR titles that came with $5 gas cards.

Alien Nation for $8.99 is a great deal.

It's also available for that price on bestbuy.com: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/alien-na...tion&lp=1&cp=1

really. a dump bin. At least BBY's dump bins aren't as bad as Walmarts.

Wish they would put Alien Nation the Ultimate Movie collection on sale. I've had the series from back in the days of the B1G1 sales at DD and DVD Planet, but seem to never see the movie collection go on sale.

The Best Buy exclusive versions of Jack Reacher and Gangster Squad are both $7.99 in store only right now. Don't know if it's a sale or new regular price, but for that price, I picked up Jack Reacher today.

Thanks. I'll pick up Jack Reacher for that price.

I believe the BB exclusive is just some added content on CinemaNow.

Now? Nothing. It had a 20 minute Cinema Now featurette on stunt driving that was pulled from their service before the expiration date on the package for some odd reason.

Don't know if you an consider this a deal, but Best Buy is offering 500 My Best Buy Points
when you pre-order or purchase select seasons of Game of Thrones.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/promo/ga...erID=182478878

I may put in an order for the Stark exclusive cover for season 3 since I do not have that cover yet.

I bought it for 9.99 on 8/21. Anyone know when the new return policy started? I'm Silver (well, Elite Plus now, which WAS Silver), so I used to have a 60 day return policy. Dunno if they'll still honor that. For 2 bucks, probably not worth my effort...

Until Nov. 1 when the new program rules kick in for everyone. For any purchases after that date, Elite Plus will be 45 day returns, and Elite will be 30 day returns.

I didn't think it was possible, but my local BB has reduced the size of their dvds by about 75%.

I picked up Cabin in the Woods for $4.99 with the $5 coupon I got in the mail.

I think the end is near, which means I won't be going in Best Buy hardly at all if they don't have blu rays. I hope Best Buy has one more good Black Friday in them before they pull all the stock.

Which version is the BB exclusive version of Gangster Squad? I saw both the BD/DVD/UV w/ slipcover and the BD only versions, but they were in the same slot, tagged @ $29.99 each AND with a "sale" shelf tag listing $29.99.

I didn't have time to have them checked at the register.

re: Best Buy / bestbuy.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I haven't been going into Best Buy as often lately.

... but I did go today to get the BB exclusive version of Vikings S1 for $21.99 and while I was there found a bunch of BD TV seasons for $19.99, so picked up S2 of Nikita.
