I picked up The Mummy collection steelbook today for $19.99

It has the 1st 3 movies plus The Scorpion King with The Rock. Plus, there is an $8 movie money to see Tom Cruise's version next month.

That's a hell of a good deal.




Was debating whether or not to pick up this or the 3 Mummy movie 4K UHD collection that doesn't have Scorpion King. The 4K edition does have the movie money as well.

But, I decided to save the $20 extra that it costs and get the extra movie.

I have the Mummy Trilogy that released about 4 years ago.
Other than the scorpion movie and extras are the movies remastered or offer better audio?

It doesn't offer better audio, it's the same 5.1 DTS-HD tracks. And based on some comments on other forums, it doesn't sound like the picture is all that much improved, although apparently the HDR does help it. Sounds like Universal is going to fuck up UHD releases.

I examined the discs last night and it looks like The Mummy and Scorpion King were just repackaged from an older release. Both have copyright dates of 2008 on them. The artwork on the discs didn't match. The other discs are from 2017.

Still you can't really beat the price and I was upgrading all 4 from DVD.

What's the extra features on this compared to other edition that came out with all the movies? I wish I knew if it was blu-ray or not. Sadly it's somewhere in storage. Kind of tempting for $20 if there's new stuff, especially with the movie cash.

Best Buy has a cool little trick to save $1 when ordering blu rays online. Add to your cart and select the shipping option. When you go to the next screen, you should see an option to save $1 if you switch to store pick up instead. It looks like it only works on the mobile version, not the desktop or app versions. It also looks like you can use it multiple times. I already used it twice today.
