I'm surprised I actually got one, I never usually do. I'll be using it to pick up the steelbook Atmos version of Game of Thrones season 5.

Works out to 12.5¢ per hour. Good movie. Of course it had some Bay-esque explosions but is supposedly very true to the source material.

I didn't get the coupon either and I'm an Elite member. I think my local store is doing OK though so maybe as Phantom theorized, it's tied to certain locations?

Here's the big secret. The coupons go to people who don't spend as much money in the store, to try to draw them back in. They figure people who spend a lot of money there don't need coupons to draw them in.

You'd think that was the case... Which is why I never expected to get one.... But alas... I did..

Yeah, I've read that people with outstanding rewards certificates are just getting reminders.

Best Buy might have well just sent those people an e-mail that says "Fuck you!"

I followed your lead. Seemed like a safe blind buy at that price.

I thought it was a good movie. I bought it when it was released because I still like to collect the war genre. If you read the movie thread and others on the internet, the people that didn't like it felt that Bay got political because it didn't follow the narrative of a protest that escalated. It did follow the source material from the people that were there. If anything it left out a few of the political elements that came out after the inquiry.

Even though these movies; Lone Survivor, American Sniper, Band Of Brothers, etc. are known for taking artistic license I still find them entertaining. For less than the cost of a rental, how can you go wrong?

Is the $10 coupon a Deal of the Day email or a General Marketing email?

General marketing. It expires the 28th.

Also, the VISA $25 off of $100 deal is back. Expires the 21st.

I got one and I dropped a few grand last year to buy a TV set from them (as well as some Christmas purchases)...so I'm not sure that theory goes far.

I'm sure they probably sprinkle them in amongst the higher spenders too, but I always chuckle when people post about how much they spend and don't understand why they didn't get one. In general, what you just posted is why you didn't get one.

Well, I don't think that theory holds any water. I shop there regularly and have Elite Reward Zone status. That being said, I used the $10 off strategically this morning. Amazon lifted the a-hem, "Prime Members Only" deal on "Lost In Space: The Complete Adventures" and dropped the price to $48.49. Thankfully, Best Buy still had a pristine copy of this set in-stock at my local store and they happily price-matched Amazon. I also applied the $10 off coupon and a $5 Rewards Zone certificate. So, the 18-Disc Blu-ray set cost me a mere $33.49. Patience is a virtue—that's a steal, not a deal!

Wow....that's fantastic. What's even better is I did not spend my $10 off code yet and I was probably going to waste it on some $10 Blu-ray I would never watch (and I've been wanting to watch this show). THANK YOU!!!!

Edit: Ordered, I had been waiting for something worthwhile (and still got free shipping to boot). Anyway, I will note that Season 4 is on backorder until March. Not a huge deal since I would have to watch all three seasons first, but there might be a few who buy just Season 4, so it's worth noting.

Love the show but has zero rewatchability value to me.

I somewhat agree with that. I was at Target and had all four seasons in my hand ready to price match, and I ended up putting them back. I know realistically I would watch them once to catch up with the series before it airs again and probably never watch them again. I hardly ever re-watch TV shows.

Sure would have jumped on the Prison Break seasons for $10 each had we not already snagged then for $10.79 each with dual Cartwheel coupons at Target.

Just finished S1. Hoping to get through 2-4 (and Final Break) by the time S5 airs..

Season one of Prison Break is awesome but it's one of the few excellent shows that I don't think has much rewatch value.

A reminder that since a new year started, you can post 8 reviews and get 200 bonus points for them. It doesn't matter if you purchased the item or not at Best Buy.

I wonder if that will lead to the kind of "reviewing" that has plagued Amazon over the past couple of years, with 5-star epics like "I liked it" or "Great" or "It arrived on time!" apparently representing the new norm for critical evaluation.
