So how is one to know what is a pricing error and what is a sale at DDD? Because when orders get cancelled we always have defenders of that sight saying we shouldn't have expected them to honor a mistake.

When DD has sales, they have large banners on their front page telling you about it. IF they were purposely doing some crazy discount on Blu-rays, they would have said so. This was pretty clearly a mistake on their part, but if they completed the transactions, they ought to fulfill the orders instead of cancelling them after the fact.

I still haven't gotten a cancellation notice for Gladiator, and it hasn't shipped yet, But was instock when I placed the order.. Oh DD.. how the mighty has fallen.

If their system is somewhat computerized, a person would think these types errors would be alerted to DD within a short period of time (a few hours after the pricing event happens isn't unreasonable if somebody is supposed to be responsible for the inventory overall). For example, if Gladiator only gets an average of X orders per year, but one day Gladiator gets the same number of X orders in one DAY, somebody at orders dept should be alerted. Not to mention, having an alert to the "price changer" if a Blu-ray is below $5 to check the price again. Hell, an employee at DD could change a price and have his buddies order a shitload of titles if there wasn't some kind of inventory check over there. Which makes me think these price mistakes are kind of not mistakes.
But anyway, I'm not going to bitch if the title doesn't ship.

My order still says open but the pending charge has disappeared from my bank account. I've still not received a cancellation notice though. I ordered the Band of Brothers which they admitted was a mistake and it was cancelled faster than this so I guess its still up in the air.

I ordered 2 Forrest Gump and 1 Gladiator... They told me Gladiator is in out of stock, will be shipped when is available. Forrest Gump will be shipped. They charged me for all three movies. 3 days, I received both Forrest Gump but no Gladiator. Still, waiting for Gladiator.

I just got an email that my BLU of Gladiator shipped...I ordered within the first hour of the sale so I think I may have gotten lucky!

Mine supposedly shipped also. Really only wanted G1&G2 but also ordered Gladiator because it bumped me to free shipping and cost about the same as not ordering it and paying for shipping.

Had to cancel the order....my shipping address was incorrect, and they couldn't change it for whatever reason. If anyone gets an extra copy of Gladiator (or Forrest Gump, to a lesser extent) that they'd be willing to sell, shoot me an e-mail.
