I'm grabbing a copy of the ad to save. it clearly says on ALL blu-rays so they are not going to limit me to a list.

That will require an override because the computer won't accept both.

Yes they will, and what some might not realize is that there are quite a few titles on the site now that say on sale that does in fact end today per the tag at the store. Was so looking at getting for example Green Mile and Seven but on the tag it does state the price is through 1/7

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, Jan 8 - Jan 28, 2012

if anyone thinks best buy is gonna jack up prices, you clearly do not shop there very regularly.

ive seen crap that was on sale in ads weeks before, still listed on sale in store, with online being 20-30% more.

the fact this is an instore deal guarantees there's some great deals to be had.

I believe someone said that those digibook blus that are on sale for $10 end tomorrow, but that most of the current $9.99 blus are on sale til end of the month. I don't recall who posted that unfortunately.

I just hope that Kick-Ass is still on sale tomorrow. And maybe Kill Bill vol 2.

If you look at an earlier post of mine I'm a pro for getting overrides. Seems that all I do lately. "Need a manager for an override"

The customer service manager wouldn't let me use the coupon on Kick-Ass since it was on sale. I probably could have pushed the issue, but whatever. I did get my DVD back, so I really don't care.

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, Jan 8 - Jan 28, 2012

Got to y BB @ 11:10 AM. Already people in front of me w DVDs. I traded in 4.

Family Man 14.99
Behind Enemy Lines 12.99
Out of Sight 14.99
Pitch Black 14.99

Needed a manager to override (of course). They said their system was down.

So. 60.00+ after tax became 33.00++ after tax (I had a $5.00 RZ coupon)

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, Jan 8 - Jan 28, 2012

I was the first one to trade DVDs in (got there when they opened, two people got to customer service before me to return things) I picked up 10 Things I Hate About You, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2/3 and American Beauty on sale for 9.99 each. As someone else said, the coupons weren't working so I just had to wait for a manager override. So I got the BDs for $4.99 each and used my $5 RZ cert, for a total of 9.97 before tax. Wait, that doesn't seem right...I just checked my receipt, and for some reason I got an extra .50 off for 'BBY Card SAVINGS'! I used my RZ Mastercard, but I don't know why I got that, but I'll take it! Anyway, 10.04 out the door including tax for 3 BDs!

Same thing happened to me--for some reason some 5% New Best Buy Card Holder discount is getting applied to purchases paid by BB Credit Card.

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, Jan 8 - Jan 28, 2012

The better half and I went to 2 different Best Buys, and got a total of 20 Blurays. Just to give everyone a heads up...Glory and Stripes both have shelf signs that say $9.99 but ring up $9.75 making them not valid. Had to do over rides on every title. Also, Moulin Rouge and Out of Sight are both ringing up at $12.99 instead of stickered prices of $14.99 and $24.99. Got Cape Fear, Harry Potter DH 2 (digital copy and dvd) for $9.99, American BeautyKill Bills and others. Good luck...it was a hassle for sure!

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, Jan 8 - Jan 28, 2012

Just got back. Sounds like my experience was like most others, except they gave me the story that it was "only on certain titles." I pointed out the newspaper ad as well as a little bar code slip they scanned at customer service desk when the DVDs are traded in, both of which said "any Blu-ray $9.99 and up." They then had to do an override to get the discount to work on all the titles I had.

I caved on American Beauty despite the not-so-hot PQ reviews. It's worth it to me for $5 since the movie is so good. I got there maybe an hour and a half after opening, and the $9.99 titles were already dwindling significantly; most down to 0-3 copies on the shelves.

I'll probably go back for another run before this ends. I got the following (prices after discount):

American Beauty $4.99
Good Will Hunting $4.99
The Guns of Navarone $9.99
Rise of the Planet of the Grapes BD/DVD combo $12.99
Mildred Pierce BD/DVD combo (HBO) $29.99
and Game of Thrones Episode 1 sampler for a penny.

Louie Season 1 for $4.99.

Sadly, there were no Game of Throne Samplers at my store.

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, Jan 8 - Jan 28, 2012

Thankfully I went ahead and just called the store I was going to go to. As of right now all they are saying they would allow is the ones in the ad itself and the website. I imagine if I went there and caused enough stink I could get the titles I want but unfortunately do not have the time today to do so. Personally would be fun I suppose though to take The Departed up there and get that since they said what is on the site even thpugh it has a price of $7.99 What a shock I suppose that this is not running smoothly.

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, Jan 8 - Jan 28, 2012

I hear it's a clusterfuck as the pos system is not working with the coupons. I just read on blu-ray.com that there is a memo saying that it wouldn't work until later because of a pos error
