S&H $6 (ugh), total $27 so works out to about $9 USD per set, or $5.5 per film...

they also have tons of Masters of Cinema (all region B) for about $10 USD, far cheaper than their Criterion version

fyi. I just got my region free player...so very excited about getting MOC and other classics in Region B!
Well... for $9 per set I'd have just gone for this for the Predator Trilogy:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MP2FMH2...9745412&sr=1-2

All three films in R1 for $9.99 and free Prime shipping (and if you go for "slow" shipping you get $1 of that back as a digital credit).

Yeah, but I am not a prime member... so would have to add a lot of stuff to get free shipping. i just don't order that much from Amazon to justify it. of course the $9 is just an average, I actually paid $7.5 for the set, the other movies were more expensive that brought the average up to 9. But that is a great deal if you are a prime member.

^I've been watching the Deadwood set for a while - but there are *lots* of "reviews" which mention audio sync issues on some episodes. I've avoided it because of them but it *is* getting harder to resist...

Hmmmm, for $16.55 and change I'll risk it. I did read the reviews but had to give it a go anyway.

Not a BD set and not super cheap but it is the cheapest this set has been direct from Amazon:

Alfred Hitchcock Presents - all 7 season/35 disc DVD set. Currently around $74 shipped. Region 2 DVDs.

Also the region free BD Alfred Hitchcock Collection set with the 3D & 2D version of Dial M For Murder, North By Northwest, and Strangers On A Train is around $15 shipped.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alfred-Hitc...ock+collection

Both together was around $86 shipped.

This is from Amazon Japan but you can get this really cool Predator head with all the movies (reported as Region Free) for around $85 shipped. Best price I have seen on it.

https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%83%97%E...B7TTDV11KFHG84

Jump down to the one sold by Amazon for 8,223 Yen. Out of stock at the moment but you can still order it.

How does that work? Why would Warner give a US customer with a UK code help violating region restrictions?

I'm holding out on The Hobbit Trilogy. I think it may go down even more. Probably wrong, but I'm pretty sure there's a copy made for everyone currently alive on the planet.

re: International Blu-ray deals

Captain America 3 pack is 27GBP (22.50 after subtracting VAT). Ended up $33 shipped, so $11 per movie compared to the $20 each Disney always fucking wants here. The price on House of Cards season 4 was pretty good the other day too, but I saw a review saying they supposedly received the wrong discs in the season 4 box. I'd rather get it from Amazon.it for the standard keepcase release, but that costs a little more so I figured I'd just wait for a US deal. I also haven't seen anyone post whether or not the damn thing is region locked. the Italian release is from Universal while the rest are from Sony.

I expect it'll hit the LOTR $20-30 range at some point in the US.

True. I don't have 3D myself so I tend not to factor that in.

Yeah, I don't prefer 3D but for some odd reason I'd still like to have that UK set for around $19 pounds.

Yup, $34.04 this afternoon. When you consider it is 3D and 2D Blu 15 disc set all region free... no-brainer.

re: International Blu-ray deals

I'm spending more at foreign Amazon sites than domestic this year. Just ordered Californication (Complete Series) for $56 shipped from Amazon.de. Not bad. Was 75 euros before.

re: International Blu-ray deals

Today only Amazon Canada has:

The Hogwarts Collection for CAD $90, about $67 before shipping:
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00HVJLMDC

Boardwalk Empire Complete Series for CAD $86, about $64 before shipping:
https://www.amazon.ca/Boardwalk-Empi...dp/B00TKGID5E/

These are probably the 2 box sets that I most wanted to see discounted. But of course I've been using my Cap 1 cc too much, and only have have about $65 in credit available. I guess I could maybe use a different card, but I hate the idea of those extra fees. Hopefully someone else here can use the info.
