This is the 3D set, which is unavailable, as far as I know, in the US as a set. This might have been a few pounds cheaper, but I haven't seen it under 40 pounds personally.

Currently: £39.99 (£33.33 VAT removed + Shipping) = $53 Shipped.

By the way, your link takes you to the US amazon website for some reason. At least it did for me (even though quoting it I see you have the amazon UK site in there. More DVDTalk shenanigans perhaps?).

Pretty much all media gets cheaper if you're willing to be patient. Inventory is cash in the wrong form.

Universal Classic Monsters: The Essential Collection [Blu-ray] [1931] [Region Free] is now only £13.99. Pretty much the lowest it gets. It has been this low before, but it's been several months. So, if you missed out around Christmas time, you can get it now.

Bought mine for £13.42 a month ago so it was a little cheaper back then.

Wonder why they released another more expensive version with a fancier-looking coffin packaging when the content is the same as far as I know.

Pretty much same content since the UK edition just put the std boxset insdie the coffin. There was a French version which had a different interior layout some people preferred (many didn't like that one either).

Would have been nice if they put in some extra content besides just the coffin packaging. Might make people a little more wanting to buy the more expensive edition.

The coffin packaging looks cool but wouldn't fit well with the rest of my bluray collection given its unique design. Still, nice for collectors but given my limited budget, I ordered the cheaper version.

I almost bit on the Hepburn. Unfortunately you have to buy 2 sets to get the full discount, & the Hepburn is all that's even of mild interest to me. I sure wish the US $ would drastically improve vs Euro currencies............
