dvdcompare.net does Blu-ray comparisons as well.

Here's their info on the various Godfather Blu-ray Sets:

Yes, I think all of my UK purchases have been sets. I believe there are also some TV seasons on BD that aren't available in the US.

Also, the BBC Robin Hood series is out on Blu-ray complete in Germany, region-free, but 50i. Only the first series made it to Blu-ray in English-speaking countries.

My Twin Peaks set arrived this afternoon. Ten discs, definitely the new set, and appears to be Region Free. Awesome deal for $27.

One of the absolute BEST values in what Amazon.uk offers is the pricing on those Artificial Eye sets. While they are not in the same league as Criterion for supplements, the PQ/AQ on the main features are stellar and JUST how BD needs to be done on classic fare. Check out Bluray.com reviews on any of the sets below.

The François Truffaut Collection
The Leos Carax Collection
The Adventures of Antoine Doinel: Five Films by François Truffaut
The Satyajit Ray Collection

The above are some examples of what £16.66 each (after VAT reduction), will NEVER buy you stateside. Load up on those (region B) sets if you are region Free. Or hey, THESE are the kinds of sets which justifies one to go Region Free. Its never been a better time to be a collector !!

re: International Blu-ray deals

I've been eyeing the StarTrek TOS set but today took a look at the screen caps in Bluray.com reviews - why is just about everyone gushing on what's clearly a DNRed hack job ? it could pass off with such compliments back in 2009 when no one knew better but there's no way its forgiveable in today's BD world. Is the new set just a reissue of the same or has it been mastered better ? TIA

The movies are one thing, but the TV series is amazing looking on disc. While not perfect if you have immaculate materials, I'm just not sure they could look a lot better exp for $40
Thanks, hariseldon - yeah the price is right, just that I didn't want to compromise on what the format can deliver. Appreciate the feedback/comments

The Star Trek set looks pretty good everything considered. It's a tick below the best-looking vintage TV Blu-rays but CBS did solid work remastering the series.

Plenty of Eureka titles straight from the mfr (seller's name is 'Bestmediagroup') on Amazon.uk - with great prices. Go to Bluray.com, select UK site, click on Lowest Prices and filter on 'Eureka Entertainment'. S/H seems a bit steep but averages out better the more the # of titles you buy. 90% of the offerings are Region B.

Those are pretty good prices on the Eureka stuff.

I'm tempted on getting Battlestar Galactica complete series.

EDIT - It's $31.47 shipped to the U.S.

How did you get that price? Mine shows $58 shipped to Florida. I would jump all over it for $31.47.

You have to click the price that's underneath the main price. It says that it will ship between 1-3 weeks. I think that higher price is from a 3rd market seller.

re: International Blu-ray deals

I have always wanted to watch BSG and have heard great things about it but just have too much on in my back catalog to watch. But now I ordered one just because the price was too damn good to pass up.

Go underneath the main price as well on the Clint Eastwood Collection and you can pick it up for $20 shipped by Amazon. That's a crazy good price. Unfortunately I bought just a few weeks ago for around $10 more. And I still thought that was a great price.

re: International Blu-ray deals

My brain isn't working: would it be cheaper to let Amazon convert my ~25# total to ~$34 or let my credit card company sort it out?

Let your CC do it. Amazon charges you.

re: International Blu-ray deals

I finally bit on BSG. I think the only BD I have is Razor, and I'm missing one half-season on DVD.

Tossed in Eastwood while I was at it.

Some CC do as well. I have Citibank cards. They charge 1% but is still less than using Amazon's converter. Discover doesn't charge a Forex fee *but* Amazon UK doesn't take it (or didn't the last time I checked a few months back).

I keep waffling on BSG. I recently pulled out my DVD set and think it looks pretty good which is making it hard to pull the trigger - even for that ~$32 price point.
