Well, that's an interesting new twist. Where did you get this info? Which conventions?

It's on his twitter account, he'll no longer be at Monster Mania, Horrorhound or Frightmare.

And yes, I too placed an order on 12/19 and haven't received anything...

Of course he won't, I wouldn't want to be beaten into a bloody pulp by the angry masses either. The dude is a scumbag.

That Karma, she is a bitch.

Sounds like the organizers of those, didn't want the melee.

Or maybe they ordered stuff and never received it

I'm happy and relieved to say that my credit card company just refunded my money for the six items I ordered and never received.
If Karma truly does exist, this jackass is going to ripped off himself big time someday. And there'll be a whole lot of his former victims smiling on the sidelines and providing the flip comments when he has his Big Fall...

Per his Twitter feed:

Unfortunately for those that wanted to get refunds/credits or even punch us in the face at those shows i guess you won't be able to
Makes one wonder if he was kicked out of those shows or if he pulled out just so he didn't have to give refunds in person. Can anyone verify he was kicked out of those shows, other than what he's saying?

You stopped reading too early. Two tweets later:

actually we got 'cancelled' by each because of angry mobs threatening to make scenes i guess

Like I said, all we know is what he's saying. How do we know he was really cancelled? How do we know he just didn't pull out of those shows himself to avoid having people demanding refunds at a show where he'll be selling stuff? I'm just basing it on stuff he's claimed before.

And why would people STILL be waiting on a refund by the time those shows roll around? Shouldn't EVERYONE be refunded sooner than later?

One person at the blu-ray forum said they worked at one of the events and it sounded like they were going to bring up his issue, so it sounds plausible. I wouldn't be surprised if a few angry customers sent emails to the events with links to what's going on. Having him there sounds like the sort of thing extra security would be required for.

^ Exactly. I think he has managed to piss a lot of people off, and I imagine horror collectors are not the type you want to piss off. People are mad, and without a true outlet to express their frustrations, it wouldn't surprise me if people contacted those conventions. It's not like the guy kept his schedule a mystery. Some of the people running those conventions might even be members of DVDTalk, Blu-ray.com or other sites where this is being discussed. Plus, let's be honest here. Some of those people might also be among those who are still waiting for an order or a refund.

I could understand that. I just wanted to hear some sort of confirmation.

Not sure why I'm so interested in what's happening. I don't even have a horse (errr order) in the race

I filed a claim with my credit card company Bank of America VISA signature card one week ago. Just received an email from HME stating refund. I will have to make sure it appears on my credit card now.

Fiasco is done for me.

Dug that thread up about BigCD and it's eerily similar except for the fact that the "Emperor" never came here and posted, although Twitter served that purpose in this drama. His tweets were somewhat similar to some of the stuff that BigCD Mike was saying.

History repeats itself.

I know the guys who run HorrorHound, and I've got easy connections to the guys who run every other major convention. I'll see if I can come up with anything. I didn't get burned by this guy (I knew it was too good to be true), but reading all of this almost pisses me off just as much.

I would be interested to know what you find out. He claimed he got kicked from Monster Mania, but someone over at Blu-ray.com said that an email from the event's coordinator denied that. Maybe he didn't get kicked and just doesn't want to face the music ...

Yeah, this is pretty good stuff. The info being posted by the members over at blu-ray.com are conflicting with stuff he's saying on Twitter. It's too he's not attending those conventions. That would've been awesome. And we'd have videos this time

I don't even have an order and I have been checking these threads every day. DVDs, drama, what isn't to like? (unless you ordered from him that is)

I have too, but with some guilt over my continuous interest and intrigue over the drama since I received the two items I ordered from him and am free of it.

I hope everyone gets their stuff or a refund and I recommend constant vigilance and every proactive method you can think of to expedite a satisfactory conclusion. Just sitting and waiting and hoping for the best should no longer be an option.

re: Horror Movie Empire shenanigans (was: Blue Underground BDs $10 each)

I e-mailed them weeks ago asking for a refund. Today I FINALLY get a response giving me the option of a refund or waiting out my order and a gift card. They want ME to respond to it with my choice. I ALREADY SAID REFUND. The way this guy talks on Twitter about trying to actually handle this in the right way makes me crazy. I am sure it will be weeks until he responds to my response about a refund.

I would be contacting your financial institution and disputing the charge, rather than wait about some dumbass to do it.

This.

The fact that people are still waiting and trying to deal with this guy directly is mind boggling to me.

Thats what I'm saying, at this point these people don't deserve their money back of they are still waiting for return emails and what not.

So I deserve nothing? Fuck you. It's a gamble to be sure, but I think it will pay off.
