Christmas Carol - 60th Anniversary Diamond Edition -$8.99 at B&N
I took a small chance (as the picture displayed is not correct) and ordered this at B&N and it turned out to be the newer, improved Blu-ray (better transfer than the 2009 edition Blu-ray) recently put out by VCI. With the 30% off coupon it cost me $6.29 plus tax.

Very nice deal for the best film version of the classic story. I paid $9.99 at Amazon last month to get it. Get this and the George C. Scott version on Blu and you will have the two finest movie versions of CHRISTMAS CAROL ever made.

You know, I never saw the MUPPET version, so I take back my unqualified statement.
And I too am a fan of the 1938 MGM version, mostly because that was the one I would watch every Christmas on a local station in Chicago. The 1951 version rarely seemed to play on American TV back then or at least I don't remember seeing it much when I was a kid, it was always the MGM version with Reginald Owen and Gene Lockhart.

And I LOVE the Muppets version!

Nice, I thought it was a good deal to pay $10.99 for it on Amazon a few weeks ago!
I like the George C. Scot and Patrick Stewart versions too, but never get them on DVD because they are always on every year and I would only watch them around Xmas time anyway. Same reason I never buy It's A Wonderful Life on DVD either.

Besides the Muppets, I do love the George C. Scott version. Wonder how many different versions of this film are out on DVD...

Yes. The Muppet version gets my vote. Alastair Sim, though, has to be regarded as definitive. And some really enjoy the Mr. Magoo take. Many very good ones over the past 80 years.

Mine shipped today. Should get to its destination tomorrow--an early gift for my dad. He loves that movie something fierce.... I least I hope.
