I received two separate cancellation emails for the two orders placed, but not even the courtesy of an explanation (pricing mistake or whatever) and absolutely no gift certificates.

I received 2 emails for my 1 order. The first email was an "Order Update" stating the item would be cancelled and gave me the $10 digital coupon. The second email is like what you received, just an "Order Cancelled" email stating the item was cancelled with no other details.

Got the cancellation e-mail as well. I almost didn't place a second order with store pickup but am now glad that I did, since that's the one that worked out.

Can't complain very much since I got the $10 code also. Some cheap movie free (or close to free) + one $10.99 UCE is very good by me.

Mine was cancelled too...but I used the $10 coupon towards Scarface & Big Lebowski Blu-rays so I am happy.

I just might do the same. I hadn't really anticipated buying the big set for this anyway. I sort of look at it as free $10. Luckily, there has been no cancellation notice for Citizen Kane, which is also still backordered for me.

Anyone know the differences between the $ 15 one and the UCE (besides the book, staue, whatever)? Someone posted a review on BB that the $ 15 set has four discs (?).

Don't quote me on this, but I think it's two Blu-rays, and two DVDs that have the same content since the movie is spread across two discs in both formats. The third disc from the Ultimate Collector's Edition is a special features disc that includes documentaries and the silent version. I don't think that disc is included.

You are correct. Apparently Best Buy is the only one with this set as it is stickered Best Buy exclusive like the set many of us didn't get.

For those of you that have these sets still available in your area, you might try bringing a copy of the cancelation email and/or the order email to your local BB. The manager might just match the price for you. Couldn't hurt. I might even push for the regular set, but that would be a HUGE YMMV.

I got my cancellation and $10 code in two separate emails. I might use the code towards Hangover II next week. But I hate supporting any movie that has the UltraViolet on it.

FYI, this week BestBuy.com is giving out a $10 gift card if you purchase three $14.99 movies. If you pick three on sale for that price and use the $10 from the Ben Hur cancellation, it's not a bad little deal.

The email title for me was "Best Buy Order Update" if that helps.

I had an in-store pick-up and a delivery order cancelled, and only got one coupon, for the delivery order. I had another item in my pick-up order that wasn't cancelled, so if you had other items in your order maybe that's the reason (because the whole order wasn't cancelled). Couldn't hurt to give them a call and request a coupon.


Personally I'm really disappointed about not getting the movie, because it's a favorite of mine and I really wanted it. A $10 coupon is better than nothing though.

Ordered the Best-Buy Exclusive version of Ben-Hur for in-store pick-up. It's $14.99. Less the $10 code... I'm getting the movie (which is all I really want) for $4.99. No tax here.
