My local Best Buy had new release Doctor Who Complete Season 6 blu-ray stickered at $36.99 (sticker clearly indicated this was the blu-ray version). Rang up $59.99 but was adjusted down to $36.99 with no issues.

Also, several recent new releases are on sale for $12.99.... Water For Elephants, Scream 4, No Strings Attached, The Mechanic... to name a few.

No go at my store. I am betting the white best buy sticker was labeled $36.99? All of my copies had the yellow best buy stickers on top of the white stickers. I didn't bother to peel it off to see what was underneath, but I'm betting the white sticker said 36.99. I'll try one more BB on the way home from work, but that's it...

Also, I tried to buy Scream 4 but it rang up $29.99, so no dice on that one either... Did yours actually scan $12.99?

Also, Yes, it was the white sticker labeled $36.99. There were no yellow sticker copies on the shelf.

Got it at my store in Hialeah, FL. It rang up for the regular price, but I pointed out the white sticker with the lower price, and they changed it immediately. No fuss.

There were 3 copies, all of which had white 36.99 stickers, at the midtown NYC location...no fuss about adjusting the price for me either...

Yup, 2 copies at mine both $36.99, adjusted price no problem. Good deal on an outrageously priced BBC set.

It might be cheaper during the B&N 50% off BBC sale in December if you are a member using the $8 off $40 coupon if you can wait a bit ([89.99 * .5 *.9] - 8 = $32.50 + local tax). I snagged one at BB anyway. :D

Went to another BB, and found one for $36.99. Thanks, OP! And thanks vocalhouse for that great suggestion. I'll keep that in mind, since I also have a B&N MC for an additional 5% off... But for now, I couldn't pass this deal up...

Thank you so much for this. I got mine at the Yonkers NY store. They wrote in on their cash register the reason for the price change but i got it with no problem. Probably their warehouse used one of the half season stickers on the full season sets. Seems to be nationwide

It's a price error on the white sticker. At my Best Buy they had a yellow sticker with $74.99 over the white sticker and I believe a $59.99 shelf price probably only for release week. I didn't bother peeling off the sticker to try and get the lower price. That crosses the line where they know you've tampered with it if it becomes an issue at the register.

I took a shot. At first I couldn't find it because there weren't any in the BD TV section (they did have S6 parts 1&2 there). I looked around at new arrival areas, still no go. I finally found them (there were three) with the movies in the regular BD section. All had the white $36.99 stickers. There was no shelf price. I grabbed one and went to the register. The clerk did a big double take when the price came up $59.99. He laughed and adjusted the price to $36.99. He realized that it was a ridiculously low price but he said, if it's a mistake it's BB's mistake and rang it up.

As vocalhouse said, it may be a little cheaper at B&N next month and I was going to wait for that. But a bird in the hand...

Never expected to be able to get in on this, but I had to return something to BB this morning and on the way out figured I would case the aisles to see if there were any unadvertised specials. Was just about done when I remembered to check for DW.
White sticker and no problem adjusting it at the register.

May try to get a better deal at B&N when that sale comes around, but if not, I'm happy with this. Just have to sell off the half season releases now. Great season, BTW. After a shaky start there were plenty of very strong eps and the whole thing came together well at the end.

In the Raleigh/Durham area, no go last night at the Brier Creek location (there was one copy with the yellow sticker and the rest were correctly priced). However, I was over near Southpoint so I checked that location today. First 4 copies said $74.99, but the last copy in the rack said $36.99. Score!

There were two left after I picked up one today at the Outer Loop Best Buy in Louisville, KY. All three had the 36.99 sticker.

The DVD set was marked at 38.99.

I completely forgot to check at both of the Best Buys visited the past two days.

However, thought I'd mention this: Amazon has the Blu-rays of Pt 1 for $20.99 and Pt. 2 for 21.99...if you don't mind having two separate sets rather than one combined set. Does the complete set contain any extra features not on the separate versions?

In my case, with almost 10% sales tax, the combined BB set would be around $40.50 vs. $43 for the separate sets purchased at Amazon. I'd rather have the combined set but would settle for the other if I minded waiting for a price drop or repeat of the BB deal (which sounded more like a misprice).

The complete set has all the extra features that are not included on the bare bones separate versions. The complete set also includes the Christmas Special.
