It sounds like they plan to repeat the Avatar scenario which is they will only have 3 releases available: a theatrical 2D, an extended 2D, and a theatrical 3D. I hate it when they screw over the 3D'ers like that. Since I liked Avatar a lot more than The Hobbit and they had the Avatar 3D on sale for $15 at Fry's, I have both editions. I'll be harder pressed to do the same on The Hobbit, so for now I'll wait for either a 3D extended edition or for the 3D theatrical to drop under $15. I'll pass on the 2D versions for now, and if they haven't released extended 3D editions in a few years once the entire Hobbit extended 2D BD trilogy is released, I'll get the 2D extended trilogy when it's $40 or less. It's hard for me not to believe that studios purposefully leave the 3D extended editions "out in the cold" for a planned double/triple dip. I won't fall for that again. I've limited myself to 2 dips max here to combat studios' greed.

I just ordered several titles I had ordered from B&N the week before in the B2G1- but a lot cheaper! I'll have to return the B&N order, but it's still well worth it.

If it wasn't clear in his previous post- they automatically knock off $5 from a $25 order and anything over $50 gets an additional $10 off- not either/or.
So $15 off a $65 order for me + free shipping.
And their regular prices were already at or below the B&N sale prices.
