Is the Christmas Carol special included in the Doctor Who Series 6 set? Most of the listings I've seen don't mention it being on there, which kind of sucks.

Amazon Canada had this for $56.00 about a month ago. I'm guessing Amazon U.S. will inevitably go lower than $62.99.

Is this the definitive version to get or am I remembering correctly that a super duper version of Barry Lyndon and Lolita are being released soon?

I think it's only Clockwork Orange that was getting double-dipped, but I could be wrong.

Supposedly Lolita & Full Metal Jacket will be getting anniversary editions next year (50th & 25th, respectively). It was mentioned once by Warner in June, but they didn't mention what these releases would consist of.

They also have not said a word about them since, so I'm not even sure if they're still happening.

A triple dip on Full Metal Jacket?

We'll see about this. It wouldn't shock me if it turns out these just get some type of deluxe packaging with the same disc that Warner is so fond of doing. Prove me wrong, Warner. Prove me wrong!

True... unless everyone in your household already signed up for Amazon Mom at the same time long ago and ran out of the free Prime. Then you're up a creek like I am for Black Friday week with Prime unless you create fake accounts which I'm too worried to do since I don't want to be banned from Amazon and I think it's pretty easy for them to match up a person's name or address on your credit card or PayPal account.

Now had I known that Amazon Mom was an ongoing forever promotion, it would've made sense for only 1 family member to sign up at a time rather than all at once, but I never noticed those magical details in the fine print.

I'll have to see the BF week deal roster before I decide if it's worth paying $79 for a year of Prime when I only need 1 week's worth. Chances are high that unless it's mega awesome, I'll just go without. In fact, I haven't ordered a thing from Amazon since my Prime expired 2 months ago. Supposedly on Lightning deals once you click on them you have 10 or 15 minutes to complete the purchase, so all I can do is hope there will be more than $25 worth I want in each group (unlikely though). I think it's $2 or $3 shipping per order or item otherwise. I actually don't know since I've never in my life bought anything from Amazon where I had to pay shipping (except Marketplace items).

Last year, the Lightning Deals had free shipping anyway. Not as fast as Prime, of course, but it was free.

Isn't it if the pre-LD price is over $25 then it qualifies?

For everyone that has been waiting (myself included), Best Buy will have Mad Men Season 4 on Blu for $8.99 on Black Friday. I’m sure Amazon will be matching. Can’t wait to finally pick it up.

Also, the other big ones to look out for is the Star Wars original trilogy for $29.99 and the LOTR EE for $49.99

Partly quoting myself here to note that Amazon Canada just dropped the price on the Lord of the Rings boxed set again, even lower this time, to $54.99 (matching Future Shop's price, which is in effect until Dec. 10). I realize that shipping to the U.S. negates any savings over the recent Deal of the Day price on the U.S. site—and it certainly doesn't beat $49.99 on Black Friday if that's what's coming—but it's more proof that this set will definitely be dropping more regularly in the weeks and months ahead. Just a heads-up anyways . . .

I've come to view Mad Men as a Black Friday show. I've never watched it live before and have only ever purchased it when it gets down to around $9.99 every Black Friday.
