Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Saw a few new ones in the store today. Interested in Rock Star (mentioned already @ $3), maybe Project X ($3) and Our Brand is Crisis ($5). I'm due for a $5 coupon next Friday and will wait and hope they're still there next week. There were multiple copies of each so I'm optimistic.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

'Christmas in Connecticut' *ing Barbara Stanwyck (WB) rang up at $0.50. Looks like its tagged as part of the Christmas merchandise which is now 90% off. The additional 20% off made it $0.40, probably the lowest retail priced BD disc I have purchased

Picked this one up as well. I had heard that a couple of people had found Captain Phillips in steelbook from Big Lots but couldn't find a copy when I went. So Panic was the only one that caught my eye enough.

Got Christmas Story 2 and Christmas in Connecticut for 50 cents each today. They had Cruel Intentions for $3 but I'll have to watch the DVD on my new TV first and see if I need to upgrade that.

'Ice Age - a mammoth Christmas Special' will also ring up $0.50 if you find one

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I wish they had put up signs. Do we know for sure this is chain wide? I paid $5 - some coupon for CIC.
It's a very good film; I'm a fan of both Stanwyck & Greenstreet.

If you see clearance signs for Christmas merchandise, those titles will ring up with the discount % that the store has advertised for the Christmas ware. One store near me had Christmas merchandise for 90% off (signs at the entrance) and so the title rang up $0.50. Another store had 75% off and the title rang up $1.25.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

If I had things to do over again, I would have taken a few of the Christmas BDs from their display last month and tucked them into the regular rack.

Yes, they are discounted along with whatever the Christmas merchandise is discounted. At the store I visited all Christmas merchandise was 90% off, including the CDs.

But you may be too late if your Big Lots gets a lot of traffic. There were only two Christmas CDs left by yesterday, one from NSYNC. Most stores got wiped out with the past weekend's 20% off sale.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

My local BL has had no xmas discount signs. I am starting to assume it may be chain wide, though based on posts here.

I have yet to see a Big Lots that doesn't discount their Christmas stuff, though some fail to put up signs about it. You won't know until you bring a Christmas item up to the register.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I bought recently:
A League of their Own/The Natural - $3
Jaws (Blu-ray book) - $5

A heads up: I redeemed the UV code included in "A League of their Own/The Natural". That code is for both movies, but the code also redeemed "The Mask of Zorro" and "The Legend of Zorro". So I got 4 digital movies with that code. I don't know if that's typical, just letting you guys know.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I have question: Mash (from Big Lots) is the first "Steel book" I've ever bought. It there supposed to be a book inside along with the disc? The case was certainly large enough, & there were inside booklet holders. but the only thing inside when I opened it was the blu-ray disc.

No, there's no booklets in steelbooks. Its only designed to hold a disc in a fancy looking metal pack

Found a lone copy of Kevin Costner's 'Black or White' (2014). Purchased with a $5 off $15 rewards coupon
