There is no difference from the US Version except the package. However, there are some people insisted on getting the US Version because of the package.

23.67 is very tempting. I still have the old dvds and have been thinking about upgrading for a while.

Edit: Cratered on Aliens. This will be a good test if I end up getting the Potter set as well. One note on the Aliens set, shipping for me says Oct 3-Oct 6 which is about 2 weeks from now, and then about another week and a half before I get it. So I'll see it in a month. (which is fine with me, but figured I would point it out to those who want quick gratification)

F*&K ME!! I jumped all over this because I kept kicking myself when I didn't order the set when you could get it for $35 or so.

Then I checked a couple of days ago and the set was showing for 40GBP and then dropped to 25GBP

Had to get in on this. Shipping estimates don't bother me, but it would be nice to get the set soon so I can incorporate them into the 'Horror Challenge'

Just last week I watched the making of Alien 3 on this disc (which I bought during the last uk sale, no problems on my US PS3) and its really fascinating how brutally honest it is. If you watched this on the Alien Quadrilogy, its still worth rewatching for all the David Fincher footage reinserted.

Sweet, they matched HMV.com's price and with it being Amazon saved about $6 more. I've been sitting on getting this forever and would be shocked to be able to get this price "brand new" for anytime in the foreseeable future for the U.S set. thx OP

I believe the apes set is supposed to be Region ABC. I saw a pic of the back of the set somewhere and it did indeed show that to be the case.

One note though, and maybe someone who has this set can chime in, someone on the Amazon UK site mentioned that the UK set does not include the uncut Battle(?) version. Supposedly the US version includes extended fight scenes. I have only watch these movies once and that was years ago on a vhs set a friend let me borrow.

I have been tempted to pick up the Apes set until I saw that, but I have not took the time to do any research on it.

Great deal on the Aliens set though.

Killer price, but I'm holding out for the US version with the nicer packaging. I don't know if it'll ever be that low, but it's bound to keep dropping in the future.

I thought later copies from the UK changed to the US packaging. I've got the original fold-out crap from last winter when it was $40 or so. It's a pain, but so are all my old Fox TV series (24, Buffy, Angel) so boo-hoo for a couple of minutes. It's the discs that matter.

I ordered the Alien set from the UK a few months back and I have the armaray case, none of that foldy business.

I still haven't cracked it open, but it's going to be a while longer now that I have Star Wars... so pretty. ;)

I second that. And perhaps maybe the initial post can go over some of the more popular ones and whether or not they are region free. (because we all know that Amazon.uk has put Region locked when it isn't before). Just would help to eliminate some of the duplicate questions.
