That's the way it's getting for me, too, especially for movies I've seen in theaters and may not get around to watching the Blu-rays until who knows when. After waiting and paying $15 for Sucker Punch only to have it drop to $13 a couple weeks later, just about everything coming out now, including Star Wars, is going to wait until the Christmas sales - come on Black Friday week! - to get picked up. The LOTR EEs are another one. I watched my DVD copies ONCE, when they came out, and never looked at them again, so why pay top dollar?

Yep, same here. The first week prices that are "sale" are just crazy. Wait it out. Gonna get X-men next week. Maybe Thor will be cheaper the next coming week ad.

The only movies that I will buy now on release week are the Disney/Pixar films. Typically these are the only ones I have seen where the 1st week, mainly because of coupons are usually the best price I will get them for unless I get them say used from goHastings for example later on in the future.

Anyone have a scan of this ad? I have a hard time believing that price for X-men (unless first week sales were a complete disaster).
EDIT: just saw the ad scan. That is the correct price. Wow, that thing must've completely tanked last week! Sucks too, I have an unopened copy of it downstairs waiting for family movie night tomorrow night. Looks like it will be going back to Best Buy and then getting re-purchased on Sunday!!
(Who am I kidding? We live about 30 minutes form the closest Best Buy. I don't think the $8 is worth it! I'll just take it with me tomorrow when I go to but SW and see if it's on sale yet.)

edit: NCFOM was in the target ad for $8 so that caused the sales spike.

It always amuses/concerns me when the Top 10 list for BD sales can include movies that happen to be on sale. Says a lot about the current home video climate.

Guess I should cancel my amazon dumbo and spooky buddies orders since I'll save $4, even with amazon's coupons.

I don't see any reason to assume anything about X-Men's sales from that. X-Men could have sold a ton to be #1, but the rest of the sales for spots #2-10 could be poor.

Damn, Just when I thought CBS was only releasing Hawaii Five-O as a DVD, they make the BD a Best Buy Exclusive. Hmmm, pondering whether or not I should get it. The show looks fantastic in Hi-Def.

.....nice Lion King exclusive case, I wonder if this is like all the previous iron/steel books where you can return the receipt after release to get your "deposit" back but still keep the free case?
