Now, being new to the GoHastings thing, I fully took advantage of filling the holes in my video collection. I ordered 33 used DVDs for about $76, in 3 separate orders.

Did I overload the system?

I grabbed 5 Blu-rays for an avg price of $6.47/title. Not too bad especially since there were a few sub $5 titles (Cliffhanger, Friday, and Menace II Society) to offset the $9.xx titles I wanted a lot more (Tigerland and Platoon).

Naturally, as I posted this the first Cancellation email comes in...Cliffhanger...the cheapest disc in the lot is gone.

I learned that anything I order from Gohastings, especially if it is a good deal and being advertised on deals groups (as this deal is), has a high probability of having some if not most of the items in the order canceled on me because their real-time inventory system sucks (as in they don't have one... they just figure it out later that they took too many orders for an item and then cancel enough orders to meet their stock... and I'm often one of the cancellees).

There are a few good used BD deals if you get lucky though.

With the amount of stuff I purchased, my feelings wouldn't be hurt *at all* if some orders were canceled (I reached 50 DVDs/Blus).

Two of the items were already canceled.

Whatever I get is just gravy, as far as I'm concerned.

Basically I used it to capitalize on a lot of cheap stuff where shipping really drives it up. My wife got 5 cds, I snagged a blu-ray, 2 dvds, 2cds and a partridge in a pear tree . Seriously though, one thing of note...this also works on new items. I got a new dvd that was only about $6 and my wife found a cd she was really looking for that was new and reasonably priced.

Got lots of cool stuff for cheap and better deals using the Free Shipping code than the current %off sale. Some inexpensive horror titles (FROGS for 99 cents!) and a few other genres below three bucks. Biggest purchase was for all three volumes of the vintage TV series SUSPENSE, packaged together on 12 discs for $13.99 shipped. Selling for same used at Amazon Marketplace, but this way I saved the three dollar shipping cost.

I wish they would do Free Shipping more often. Thanks again to Sessioner!

I keep forgetting this is a good way to stock up on dvds to go with Rifftrax's commentaries. I had a few in my cart, from $1 to $2, but the second I tried to check out the code was expired. Nuts! I just can't bring myself to pay more than $2 for some of the abominations they make fun of. That would have been the perfect price point.

Yeah, I kinda went overboard with the code.

This was my first foray with the thing, so in the end I snagged about 55 titles for $120. All but a very few have shipped!

I'm glad you guys were able to use the code.

This, coupled with the HP firesale (I LOVE my new 32 gig touchpad!) has left me dead, dead, broke.

But at least I'll have my films and pseudo-iPad to entertain me!

I used to get emails from GoHastings all the time, but now realized they stopped a couple of months ago. They aren't in my spam folder, so WTF?!? 30% off w/free ship would be terrific. Drat.
