Would have been tempted with the $10 gift card special, but Fast Times and Dazed are too high. $12.99 or $14.99 and I would have gotten these.

usually when they advertise the TV 2-packs on sale, they all go on sale. Though Will and Grace has been 7.99 in the past, so this may be a weak sale.

Nothing much there. I already have Paul and Your Highness reserved at FYE. I got two free posters with my reservations, plus I have the backstage pass and will take a couple bucks off.

Re: Target Ad 8/7 - 8/13/11

I don't suppose there has been any official word on any Disney coupons for The Fox and the Hound or Mars Needs Moms BDs? Usually people seem to know a week or two in advance, but typically the coupon doesn't go live until the Friday before release (which would be this Friday).

It would help to know given that the Target deal works out to $41.98 + tax for both, whereas Amazon for those who preordered with the $5 coupon on each is $19.99 + $17.99 = $37.98. If Disney coupons materialize (even a $5 one) then Target will be cheaper than Amazon.

I don't know what the amount will be since it hasn't gone live yet, but there will definitely be a coupon for The Fox and the Hound-

I may have to get Blues Brothers and Paul. The $10 GC, plus 5% off with my Target card, makes it a decent enough deal for me...

Re: Target Ad 8/7 - 8/13/11

So it looks like this'll be the best deal if one wants to pick up both of the Disney releases?

I know there were coupons for both on Amazon, but I missed those. AFAIK this'll be a better deal after the combined savings deal anyway... even if you factor in the whole tax thing.

I like how the three main things at the top are things I've never heard of and probably will be fine never hearing about them ever again.

Re: Target Ad 8/7 - 8/13/11

Cheapest I've seen for The Fox and the Hound and Mars Needs Moms is to Price match with Best Buy's ad at Target.

BB price
Fox & the Hound $22.99
Mars Needs Moms $22.99
Total $45.98
-$5.00 Coupon
-$5.00 Coupon
-$8.00 when you buy both together
New total $27.98 + tax ($32.98 for the 2 with the MNM 3D/BD/DVD/DC combo.)

If someone found a lower total for these two please tell us. Thanks.

Re: Target Ad 8/7 - 8/13/11

darkhawk, I believe what you have there is close to the best deal possible (I don't know about the 3D versions). For the regular versions the best deal is if you can get Target to pricematch Mars Needs Moms @ BB for $22.99, Fox and the Hound 1 & 2 BD for $19.99 at Fry's, get the $8 combo discount, and use both $5 Disney coupons. Fry's didn't put the regular Mars Needs Moms BD in their ad (that I could see).

Next, since Target has recently had many unadvertised BD specials in store, it would be greatly appreciated if someone could write down and post those unadvertised BDs spotted in the weekly Target BD threads like this one. Thanks.

Fry's ad now lists that both are $19.99. Pricematch and they would be $21.98 together. (with the 3D MNM, both are $26.98 together)

Re: Target Ad 8/7 - 8/13/11

Picked up both Fox and the Hound and Mars Needs Mom 3D for $29.98 before tax.

Pricematched using the Fry's Electronics ad that had Fox for $19.99 and the Best Buy ad for Mars 3D for $27.99.

Used both $5 coupons and the $8 off was applied automatically.

After tax (and Target Card instant discount) total was $30.76.

My Target only had 3 Fox and the Hounds out at opening.

Just got back from my local Target, they had no FatH in Blu case, and only 4 in DVD case, and I don't think there were any Mars Needs Moms Blu-ray. I ended up getting FatH in a Blu case at Best Buy (wasn't looking to get Mars Needs Moms)

Re: Target Ad 8/7 - 8/13/11

Before going into my Target of choice, I called the store and ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes until I got ahold of the Electronics department... I kept getting put on hold, the phone system would ring a few times and then I'd be back to the store operator. After this happened about 6 or 7 times I got through and asked them to hold a Blu-ray case copy of FatH 1+2 and the 3D MNM combo pack. This was about 10:30.

I had stopped at BB before hitting up the Target and saw a display that stated $10 off for buying both Paul and Your Highness (which was being a little misleading since it meant that you get $10 if you buy those two titles AND Fast Times + Dazed and Confused) and after the cashier said it was a no go I headed over to Target with a copy of the BB ad in hand.

I finally got to the (Wauwatosa, WI) store at about 12:20 and there were still a few FatH packs (both DVD and Blu-ray cases) on the shelf, but no more MNM 3D combos. I picked up my Disney titles from the counter along with a copy of Paul and Your Highness and went up to Guest Services to see how things would go...

I had to wait about 5-10 minutes because the team member there had to get approval from the GSTL (guest services team lead) and there were 2 or 3 people waiting in line behind me. I showed him the ad and pointed out where all of the titles were on the page of the BB ad... and he seemed to figure it out. He accepted the two DMR coupons and a $5 gift card along with my Target ID (I work at another Target) and my Target Red debit card. Everything seemed to go smoothly and I walked out of the store with my purchases before I got caught up in the madhouse that is a Target at Noon-time.

When I got home I noticed an interesting surprise. The receipt goes as follows:

Paul BD - $19.99
Your Highness BD - $19.99
+ $10 gift card

Mars Needs Moms 3D BD - $19.99
- $5 mfr coupon
Fox and the Hound BD - $19.99
- $5 mfr coupon

- $8 Fox and Mars Promo

Total (pre-tax and pre-discount(s))= $61.96

Yup, that's right, even though I clearly pointed out to the team lead that the price for the 3D combo pack was below the picture, he changed the price to $19.99.

So, after my usual Target discounts, I paid under $55 for all four titles, got a $10 gift card and "made out like a bandit"... and, on an unrelated note, I definitely would have made out with the girl at the guest services counter... what can I say? I'm a dirty, dirty (27-year-) old man.

Has anyone else been lucky enough to have someone do a rush job while in a hurry at Target guest services and improve this deal?

Re: Target Ad 8/7 - 8/13/11

I ended up going to my local Best Buy (next door to Target) to pick up "Fox and the Hound" and "Mars Needs Moms 3D." I went to Target first to pick them up, but Target lost my business once again by tossing away the slip covers so they could fit them into their clear cases. I paid a little extra, but at least I got everything that I was supposed to get. Our local Target has lost a few hundred dollars from me ever since they started doing that.

My Target wedged the cases with the slip covers into the clear cases. The FatH one was fine, but the Mars Needs Moms one is messed up along the bottom back (mainly due to being such a thick case to start with).

Re: Target Ad 8/7 - 8/13/11

Yeah, I forgot to mention it, but both of my Disney Blu's had some slight dents on the slipcovers from the clear case that was on FatH and the mini-spiderwrap that was around MNM... I hate when stores that do that.

I'm going to have to remember to avoid that Target, because the Electronics folks at my store tends to be smart and either put those titles in the DVD-sized cases (in which they'll usually fit easily) or, on some rare occasions, into the larger boxed set-sized cases (which are a little bit larger than 2 regular DVDs stacked together) and in both cases the slipcovers are intact and in pristine condition.

I still fail to understand why the Paul and Your Highness slipcovers were absolutely fine when they happened to be in the same Blu-ray-sized cases, but I'm definitely not going to complain about that.
