Thanks for the heads up, OP. Cars 2 was only OK but the kids enjoyed it and the Pixar completionist in me has to have it.

My kid thought it was merely okay, and I used to be a completest until this movie. I'm passing big time. Sad Pixar could make such a mediocre film.

Thanks, OP.

I watched it last night and while it wasn't as good as the first one, I did enjoy it so I'll get it. I hope the price does come down a little though.

I just checked the terms and conditions and found this: "New York residents are not eligible for this offer." This is the first time I've ever noticed this (probably b/c I'm not in New York). Does this have something to do with you guys and the whole online tax situation?

Not sure, I wrote Amazon and Disney and they both blame it on the other. It's only with Disney, other coupons like Rango work.

California now has a similar tax dispute with Amazon, and I was able to use the coupon.

so question about this. since it's a preorder price guarantee, if this drops to say $24.99, will the coupon still apply? or does it just drop to the $24.99 and the coupon disappears. i've not used an amazon coupon before.

Whatever the tax dispute with CA, thus far, I'm not being hit with tax. I was informed it was supposed to go into effect July 1. Thus far, nothing (and I'm not complaining).

Amazon has been doing awesome things with these pre-order coupons. This one will be no different. The price will start high and then gradually find itself in the $25 range (if not lower) towards release. Anytime you can get a Disney BD for under $20, you're winning.

Kudos to Amazon.

I have Amazon Prime right now but it's set to expire before this would ship (and I don't plan on renewing it). Does anyone happen to know if it drops below $25 would I get free shipping because I pre-ordered it with Prime or would I have to pay shipping because it didn't ship until after my Prime ended?

I only found it to be a mediocre film, a lot like those SNL movies that take a pretty good 7 minute sketch and stretch it into a mediocre 97 minute movie, but should be reference quality PQ & AQ and Pixar BDs are usually chock-full of excellent bonus features so this is definitely a buy for me.

Nevermind, I found out. They do apply my Prime 2-day free shipping to the order since I'm ordering it now with Prime.

As usual, ordered with easy cancellation later on if need be

I had the same issue with my Amazon preorders... do I select free super saver shipping or Prime. I had picked super saver shipping as I assumed they'd charge me to ship when my Prime expires soon. But if people are sure free Prime shipping remains free when your Prime expires, I'll change the shipping back.

I'm a little worried anyway since on my last preorder of 2 items (individually under $25 each) which totaled over $25, it didn't show "free super saver shipping" but just "standard shipping" at no charge. I'm wondering if I cancel an item out of that order if it would suddenly charge me shipping on my preorder vs. if I had each item with free Prime shipping (but my Prime had expired) if I could safely cancel 1 of the 2 items?

I'm thinking the latter is the safer route now. EDIT: I just posted about this in the Amazon thread so I can get additional confirmations. Thanks for bringing up this topic and reminding me.

Off topic, but why arent you guys renewing your AP subscriptions?

Re: Amazon $7 Coupon: Cars 2 5-Disc Blu-ray Combo

@ Manzana: I don't know for 100% sure, but on both the last page of my pre-order and on the e-mail they sent me confirming my pre-order it listed shipping and handling as $0.00 and said 2-day Prime shipping. My Prime expires well before this would ship so if they add shipping costs I should have time to cancel my pre-order if need be.

@ IJMSPORT: I got a free one-year subscription to Prime because I'm a student. I'm not renewing it because I rarely buy only one item at a time anyway. There's been a few times it's been helpful, but overall it's not worth it for me. The few times I'd have to pay a few bucks in shipping costs don't add up to the cost of renewing Prime.

Re: Amazon $7 Coupon: Cars 2 5-Disc Blu-ray Combo

In the Amazon thread a couple people said their <$25 preorders have retained their free Prime shipping after their Prime expired, so I just changed all of my orders to Prime. Hopefully if I cancel an item out of a 2 item order after my Prime expires, the free Prime will still stay.

I like Amazon Prime, but not enough to justify paying $80 a year for it when the majority of my orders occur during Black Friday week. The rest of the year I place maybe 1 or 2 orders per month that are under $25. The rest of the time (especially when I'm not hurrying on a lightning deal that will last 30 seconds or less) I can usually a find a second item to put it over $25. If Prime were a lot cheaper, I'd do it.

Re: Amazon $7 Coupon: Cars 2 5-Disc Blu-ray Combo

Got a weird email about this today. Amazon saying they are trying to obtain this item for my order but are unable to at this time. Anyone get that? Weird since this thing hasn't even been released, yet.

The other thing I noticed (didn't even notice when I ordered this) is that this has the 3D copy of the movie in there, too. I just assumed this was the typical blu-ray/dvd/digital copy thing. I don't even have a 3D capable TV. I am not so sure I even want this anymore since the 2 disc blu/dvd will probably be quite a bit cheaper.
