Amazon Hi-Def Week June 13-17

Re: Amazon Hi-Def Week June 13-17
Every time they have one of these "deal weeks", most of the deals are lame. There is perhaps only one or two that are any good at all.
This is the first year I've made any significant purchases at Amazon apart from BF. I was hoping they would continue their mentality of offering good deals outside of the Christmas season. I guess there's still a few days to go.

I think the best deals at Amazon are unadvertised deals.

See, I think this event makes more sense from a hardware perspective than software. Amazon can sell tons of BD just by dropping a price randomly, so do they really need this event? Black Friday, sure, they need to compete. But this, not so much.

What time will Toy Story go on sale? Any realistic price predictions? I'm thinking $50ish or under will be worth it, does that sound right?

Re: Amazon Hi-Def Week June 13-17
Let me be the (not) first to say.... this week was incredibly disappointing in terms of the supposed 'deals' for "High Def Week."
The only deal that seemed any good was the $200 PS3... and since I already have one (that's a fully backward-compatible 60GB model) I didn't find it to be too great of a deal, personally.
I'm still 'proud' to be an Amazon Prime subscriber as most of their deals are pretty much consistently above and beyond what I've ever seen for any other retailer (online or otherwise) but there was nothing this whole week that seemed to be a "must have".
I was looking forward to the Star Trek movie collection, but it was definitely not the cheapest they could go... once again: disappointing.
EDIT:
And I know this was HD week, but I also found it annoying/disappointing that the week's deals were completely devoid of any Blu-ray 3D content... most/many may find it to be a gimmick, but if one of the recent (non-Disney) 3D releases had been highly discounted I most likely would have bitten ASAP!

And to top it all off, it appears there are no lightning deals at all today.
