Didn't these have shoddy packaging? I always held off getting them because I kept hearing the packaging wasn't that great.

No... just no.

If the packaging were infinitely better, then maybe... but no.

I'd much rather have all of the movies (that have been released on Blu-ray thus far) in their own packaging than settle for these sets.

Oh, and being someone who picked up a few along the way, it wasn't so bad to have gotten the first six Bond Blu-ray releases for a total of just over $40 from Amazon during their Black Friday sales back in '08... especially since they allowed me to get 6 free tickets to see 'Quantum'.

Re: James Bond Collection 1, 2, 3 $19.99 each BestBuy.com

I was waiting for Amazon to pricematch BB @ $19.99 each. I remember when this deal started in 1 of the threads somebody said it's free shipping on Vol. 3 because they didn't carry it in store, but then someone said they did have V3 in the stores. I was going to email Amazon about the price, but when I tried to put V3 in the cart I saw BB charged $2.49 shipping + tax with no in-store pickup option, so I didn't bother and I doubt Amazon will match it when it's online only with shipping costs.

Even though I was given RZ silver status recently and was told I could get free shipping, I'm going to pass until I can get it $19.99 or less delivered.

In store I saw the individual James Bond films including the special edition of Casino Royale for $9.99. I have these already so no deal for me but it is a great price if you need a nice gift for Father's Day.

If you're a Reward Silver member, you can use one of those $5 off $19.99 or more coupons and get them for $14.99 each.

What irks me is the way they're packaged. I'd have much preferred all-Connery sets (like the new DVD sets that are out). Each of the Blu sets has at least one film I either already have or just don't want.
And while I'm griping: are YOLT and OHMSS on Blu too much to ask for?!

I looked at these sets at BB tonight and I don't see anything wrong with the packaging. All 3 sets are simply the individual releases in standard BD cases inside of a box and shrinkwrapped.

They haven't always been that way. My store has at least one set in the older packaging.

I know they haven't always been this way but they have been fixed so one shouldn't let the reports of bad packaging prevent them from checking these out if interested.

I have many different Bond sets, and by-actor is something people have always wanted and MGM has never offered. They've always mixed actors so that people will have to buy the ones they don't really want. The fact that MGM for these DVD sets finally relented is clearly the sign of the apocalypse for packaged media.

wow - and that coupon isn't even supposed to be active until tomorrow 06-04!

I know my best buy wouldn't allow a price match from the website & the coupon... did it ring up as $19.99 or as stickered $54.99?

What are the James Bond films that have been released on blu-ray separately that AREN'T already included in any of the 3 volume sets?

The sets are on sale in store so there's no need to price match.

Re: James Bond Collection 1, 2, 3 $19.99 each BestBuy.com

I too was able to get them $14.99 after coupon!

strangely enough though - when I placed all 3 on the counter & he scanned them at $19.99 - then I showed him my phone & the code - he put the code in - & it only took $5.00 off one of them - he said it was only good on one...

so I asked him if he could ring them all up separately - 3 separate transactions - he hesitated a minute - then voided the 2 out - and rang all 3 up separate and I got them without any problem! great deal at about $5.50 per title after tax!

Re: James Bond Collection 1, 2, 3 $19.99 each BestBuy.com

Picked up GOLDFINGER at Target for ten bucks, price matching this week's sale ad for Best Buy. Thought about getting the set that's listed here, but couldn't see adding MOONRAKER and TWINE even for five bucks more per title. Having those two on SD is good enough for me as they are hardly favorites of mine in the Bond canon.

Just so everyone knows, they can enter the coupon multiple times on the same transaction to get it to work on multiple items. The cashier at my Best Buy actually suggested trying that!
