This is the lowest the blu-ray set has ever been!

On the Blu-ray discs
Firefly has a picture that's a little softer than most Blu-ray discs (especially in the effects shots), but it is an improvement over the DVDs (even in an upconverting DVD player or Blu-ray player), and the punchy sound (DTS HD 5.1 compared to the DVDs' 2.0 surround) is a definite upgrade. In addition to the original bonus features, there are a couple new ones: a 25-minute conversation among Whedon, Nathan Fillion, Ron Glass, and Alan Tudyk in which they discuss the series and a number of specific episodes (Fillion recalls thinking he was getting fired after the first episode), and a new commentary track by the four fellows on "Our Mrs. Reynolds." And since it's easy to get sucked into watching multiple episodes, it's nice to have a Play All feature on the BDs.

Ugh. I bought this for $25 during Black Friday from Amazon, and I've still never watched it.

Love this series. Great price for anyone that hasn’t picked it up yet. I think I paid $25.99 from Amazon a year or so again and thought that was a steal.

I got the e-mail from Amazon this morning and I knew that I couldn't pass that up.

I'm interested to see how the effects look in HD. The reviews I've read all say that the CGI is a tad soft, but it still looks better than the DVD, and the live action stuff looks great.

Same here. Now we're both out $1.51! I think I'll go cry.

Seriously though a $1.51 price drop in half a year isn't much. I'd normally expect the price to go to $15-$20 after I bought mine to make me feel worse about losing $5-$10. $1.51 is in the noise margin.

This set is WAY overpriced (at 89.99 MSRP) for a 3 BR TV set. I expect the MSRP to drop very soon. That's what happened with Planet of the Apes BR set (both FOX). It went on sale for 45ish when the MSRP was 129.99. Then the MSRP dropped to 79.99 and while 45 was OK, it's been lower.

I'll wait a bit longer.

I agree the list price is inflated, but it's hard to argue with $20ish for an awesome show on BD. But if you're not anxious to have it and can wait, there's really no risk in doing that.

I wonder if anyone has ever paid full price for this show.

Whilst I would love to have this show on blu, I think I can hold off for the time being. I have a feeling when Black Friday rolls around this might be a lightening deal where you could get it for $15.

That said, if it dips below $20 before then I can see myself snatching it up
