Hopefully Green Hornet and the Dilemma aren't flippers.

anyone know how much I could probably get for the Green Hornet 3D bu-ray disc on ebay? I've done pretty well with selling the Tangled and Tron: Legacy ones on ebay I figure I could probably get away with selling this one too.

Don't see how they can be...

Green Hornet is Sony and they have not released a flipper yet, they don't have plans to either. The Dilemma only has a Digital Copy and since these are "limited time" items, it would make zero sense to have a digital copy side.

I want to go grab Black Swan, but that's still a little too high.

I was willing to pay the $19.99 of release week, but we didn't have the $20. My wife started a new job this week, though, so maybe we can justify $17.99 next week. I'll be content at that price (though of course I won't complain if someone else runs it for less).

Also interested in The Green Hornet for $19.99. It was flawed, but on the whole I liked it. Not sure if our budget will allow for either purchase, but they're both tempting.

I saw that price and thought about PM'ing it at Walmart because I heard some people talk favorably about it, but then I actually read several reviews and they said it's very dark, most of it takes place in her head with various jump scares thrown in there for no reason, and it's very sexual. Not exactly the kind of Swan Lake movie I'd be expecting. So I passed. I might rent it or buy it when it's well under $10.

Yes, it's an R-rated psychological thriller with elements of body horror. But I have to ask, what is the kind of Swan Lake movie you'd be expecting? Just a film of the ballet?

The ballet does have some dark undertones and subtle sexuality. Nothing like the film, of course, but the ballet is based on a centuries-old fairy tale, and the film is a look into the life of a NYC ballet dancer in 2010. According to my ballet friends, Aronofsky managed to really capture the feeling of that lifestyle, even with the surreal touches he brings to the film.

Re: Best Buy Ad 5/1-5/7

Anyone who thinks Black Swan was a ballet movie (i.e. a filmed ballet) and not a movie about a ballet dancer deserves to be surprised.

I've been in line behind people at the theater's ticket booth actually looking at the scoreboard of show times and asking the cashier what various movies are about. Meanwhile, I'm trying to not miss the damn show because some ignoramus can't bother doing a little research at home before wandering to the megaplex.

That's why I love those little computer terminals where you can buy your ticket. I rarely if ever wait in line anymore to buy them at the ticket window, when I can just swipe my card in the terminal.

If things are that tight, I say pass on both until they're more within your means.

That's awfully kind of you to assume the responsibility for me. I's so grateful I can' stan' it.

If you share the details of your finances on a discussion forum, expect commentary. If your budget is so tight that you "don't have $20," he's exactly right.

Re: Best Buy Ad 5/1-5/7

CaptainMarvel, you're right that I brought it up. I merely intended to provide context for why I had previously passed on Black Swan, which is common around here (though typically it's more of an, "I was waiting for a lower price"/"I had overextended myself with other buying that week" variety). It was actually in the course of being responsible and managing things that kept such a tight lid on such purchases, and as I indicated things are (finally) looking up. I did become defensive, and snapped at TimeandTide unfairly. For that, I apologize.
