One of the Amazon comments claims this is composed of recycled "scenes from Planet Earth and other documentaries". I really don't want this if the comment is accurate. Thoughts?

Makes sense for Earth Day! The problem with these BBC sets is I have to have them as soon as they come out because I buy all the series and am hopelessly addicted to them. But this is a nice price for anyone who doesn't have it yet.

Life is a completely new show. I watched it when it aired and didn't see any footage from Planet Earth. They discussed different topics than they did with Planet Earth. Whoever said that was wrong. They may have been confused with the Disney Earth movies that come out every year.

I already own the Blu-ray and can back that up. "Life" is a completely different documentary series than "Planet Earth" although it is equally impressive in quality.

This comment is patently false. Life is loaded with new footage.

Does the BBC ever reuse footage? Sure, but it's the exception rather than the rule. Ironically, one repeat I saw was in Planet Earth: the blue whale scenes appear to be the same ones used in The Blue Planet. But that's probably because blue whales are hard to film.

Buy without hesitation. A great addition to your collection.
