Yeah, never saw it, but I think I'll be blind buying from Amazon if they match. I've heard good things.

Same here. I'll pricematch. Got some RZ certificates I'll use. Haven't heard a negative thing from anyone.

Over the last few months I lent the DVD from my HTTYD BD/DVD set to eight friends/colleagues and all of them, and their spouses, liked it. My working hypothesis was that people who like animals will like the movie and those who don't won't. But even one friend who doesn't much like animals liked the movie.

You won't necessarily love it, as I do, but any movie that gets 98% on the Tomatometer at rottentomatoes.com is pretty remarkable. It was the classic "sleeper hit" of a movie. (It also has an excellent score, by the way.)

Count me in for How To Train Your Dragon as well. Never really hit my radar before now but with all the praise, I will give it a shot.

I personally felt it was vastly over rated. And I say this being a big fan of chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois work.
It is by far their weakest animated feature to date.
It had a weak story and was very badly miscast,(the exception being America Ferrera) Falling into the typical Dreamworks misstep of casting only "STARS" to sell the movie, rather than casting the right actor for the right parts.
Dreamworks seems to forget, its the characters of these films that sell them to the audience NOT name actors.

Re: Target Blu-ray Prices April 17th - 23rd 2011

How To Train Your Dragon was my favorite movie of the entire year last year, and I enjoyed it far more then Toy Story 3. I don't think you blind buyers would be disappointed at all, and I disagree heavily with the assertion that it was miscast. This isn't anywhere close to say, putting Will Smith's voice in a movie.

I also disagree that it was miscast. I thought the voice talent was really good, especially Clive Owen and Craig Ferguson.

I'm amused by the complaint about "Stars" as voice actors because I'd never heard of any of the actors in "Dragon". Jay Baruchel? America Ferrera? Craig Ferguson? Who the hell are they? (I'll agree with Deftones that Craig Ferguson was terrific, whoever he is.)

And one of my favorite animated movies, Monsters, Inc., features two rather recognizable actors, Billy Crystal and John Goodman, who are terrific in the parts.

Jay Baruchel has had featured roles in Tropic Thunder, Knocked Up, and several other films. He was also the lead in She's Out of My League

America Ferrera is the lead on Ugly Betty

Craig Ferguson played Drew Carrey's boss on the Drew Carrey show for years, and now he is the host of the Late Late Show (which follows David Letterman).

I concur on How To Train Your Dragon, bad voice casting and horribly overrated. The movie does try to aim at a slightly older demographic (young teens more than pre-teens) than something like the Pixar movies, which I think sways some to overrate it.

Just to let you guys know of some of the "Selected Others"

$17.99
Pinocchio

$12.99
Monsters vs. Aliens

Those are the additional ones I picked up. There were some others like one of the Tinkerbells (17.99?) and that Percy Whatever movie (12.99?) and a handful of others.

Were Toy Story and Toy Story 2 included, by chance?

The "other selected titles" available for $9.99:

Serenity
Commando
Smokin' Aces
Marly and Me
American Gangster
Death Race
Fantastic Mr. Fox
It's Complicated
Night at Museum 2
Mamma Mia! (Possibly...was marked as both 9.99 and 14.99)

And for what it's worth, there was only ONE copy of HTTYD at 8:30 a.m. at my Target.

Who are hardly big stars compared to the voice actors that are in the other Dreamworks animated pictures.

Man, Target sure sucks if you care at all about slipcovers.. almost all of them are dented or cut. I picked the best looking Disney ones, found pristine copies at BB... returning Target's later this wk.

I realized I said Clive Owen instead of Gerard Butler. I always get those two guys confused.

One, he's actually not that big of a star. Like I said, compare him to Brad Pitt, Will Ferrell, Reese Witherspoon, Jack Black, Jerry Seinfeld, Mike Myers, Will Smith, etc that make up the other Dreamworks movies that picked up the "Dreamworks hires stars" knock on them, he's not even close nor was he really even advertised. Two, he's not even the lead character and isn't even in 2/3 of the movie.

I bought Megamind yesterday. I may go back and grab Tangled using that $5 coupon. Is it worth a blind buy at $13?
