Disappointing to say the least. I never understood why this film in particular gets the shaft. The fucking 'collectors series' DVD was a messy, dark, non-anamporpic transfer, and now this. It's sad...I love this film. I'm not going to go to the extent of GenPion, but still...

On a serious note..fuck the US BD. I'll get the Canadian BD one day...possibly. In fact...I might say this will be a film I'll not get till I get a proper release of what I want out of it...which is pretty much a BD of the DVD SE. Again..how the fuck is Rodriguez not involved w/ this somehow?

Rodriguez isn't involved because there is no more Weinstein run Miramax to let him work on things. The title was sold by Disney to Echo Bridge. Echo Bridge doesn't care about quality and would rather churn out cheap crap like this upcoming release than invest another dime into giving people something worth even the current $5 price tag for DVDs and $10 price tag for Blu-Rays.

I'm keeping my 2-disc set, but the transfer is non-anamorphic and looks like shit on pretty much any screen over 26". I love this movie, so $10 for even a middling 1080p transfer is fine...i just can't watch that old transfer again.

Did anyone ever confirm if this was a port from the Alliance release or not? It's back in stock, but I'll just buy the EB version @ BB if it's the same thing.

From the review earlier the echo bridge us version is shit. The alliance version being superior. You can pick up the alliance one for 10 bucks from Fye, and I have heard that some Meijer's are starting to carry alliance releases too.
