That is pretty lame. I'm surprised Target did that.

I did get a RED card was able to snag Dr. Horrible for 3.99 and Black Swan Target Exclusive for 9.99 (though I don't know if I will keep that one or not -- over my limit). Most of the other 4.75/5.00 titles I already have. Anyone notice that they charge tax on shipping even though it's FREE. Hopefully they will take care of that when they actually charge me.

I know that in my state, Minnesota, shipping is a taxable item.

Mine too, but how do you tax FREE. On the order, it says 4.59 shipping then -4.59 shipping. They are taxing the 4.59. Like I said, hopefully they will fix that or I will email them.

Thanks. Tried to PM the site in-store. Was told by one clerk they'd do it and another told me no. Said they weren't affiliated with the site.

The funny bit was approaching the CS desk and asking if I could PM the online price and the manager asking me if I had the ad. It took my wife and I nearly five minutes to explain that its not an ad but listed on their website. At one point, this manager proceeded to tell me they didn't have a website. Highly amusing.

Re: TARGET Blu-ray bargains

If you live in Missouri, I know that you have pay tax on the before coupon price in stores. Some stores will pick up the tax for you. Some will not.

Shipping is taxable in Missouri.

I don't know why they say they are not affiliated with the website when you can use the Target card and you can return stuff you buy online to the B&Ms.

Re: TARGET Blu-ray bargains

Vermiknid, all of those titles you listed are from Target.com and do not have free shipping unless you have "the red card", correct? Or are they free shipping for orders over $50?

I'll probably get a Target red card someday, but like you said... there isn't time to do it for this BF. Maybe next one. I'm overloaded with too much to do... between work, family, and my bargain hunting addiction I have no free time ever :-( and DVD Talk is part of my bargain hunting addiction.

For someone so on top of Blu bargains and such a seemingly savvy shopper, I'm surprised you don't already have a Red Card.

Just placed an order for Fast Five (Christmas gift for son) and Social Network (been on my wish list for months) for...

order summary
(2 items)

* item subtotal: $19.98
* REDcard rewards: -$1.00
* shipping: $4.59
* shipping discount: -$4.59
* Estimated Tax $1.47

* your price: $20.45

Re: TARGET Blu-ray bargains

Yes, sorry they are from Target.com. No one else had bothered to start a Target.com thread -- and I figured this was the place to put it. For those who have red cards it is free shipping plus an additional 5% off.

I assume someone would be interested. These combined threads often bury info and people miss out.

Re: TARGET Blu-ray bargains

Does anyone know what is up with Black Swan on Target's site? All it says is "Available in Store" and there is no option to buy it online. Has anyone been able to buy it online today? Other discs that are sold out online indicate such.

You better watch out on that one. They have 2 listings one with 3D and one with 3D/2D. I don't think they ever made a 3D only copy but they did a 2D only one.

Re: TARGET Blu-ray bargains

Cool, thanks for the tip. Grabbed Drive Angry. Even though I have yet to get my 3d tv . Glad to know it's free shipping too with Red Card. First time I purchased at Target.com.

Re: TARGET Blu-ray bargains

How long has the Red Card been around? It's just a Target credit card, right? Can you use it at other stores or only Target?

Has the 5% + free shipping on any item (not just the ones marked "ships free with $50") always been part of the Red Card or just this holiday season?

I'm definitely regretting not having a Red Card now and hope that if I get one they won't stop the 5% + free shipping online in the future. Otherwise there would be no point in having it over a regular credit card.

You can only use it at Target. You can get a credit card or a debit card and both will give you the 5% and you can use both on line. I think it was introduced in late 2010, but I'm not sure.

You still get 5% off, which for some might cover tax. For me it partially covers tax.

It actually makes Target the place to PM stuff, since they still give you the 5%. My understanding is that even with coupons you get the 5% off the pre-coupon price, but on one receipt it didn't look like it worked that way, but haven't taken the time to really make sure.

Good deal on Black Swan though, I missed that.

Went there at 8 am and most of the blus survived except for Shawshank Redemption. Grabbed Jackie Brown for $3.99 for the hell of it.

Target.com has Bad Santa for $4.75

The trick is to type Badder Santa in the search box.
