Re: TARGET Blu-ray bargains

Picked up Terminator 2 and Stargate in $5 stack. My store had Terminator and Terminator 3 at $9.99, although someone mentioned getting them for $5.

Edit: Returned Stargate because there is a newer better edition.

Re: TARGET Blu-ray bargains

Went to the Topanga Canyon store and saw numerous $5 titles available such as Brothers Grimm, Swingers, Rounders, The Cider House Rules, Terminator, T2: Skynet Edition, The Doors, and etc.

Whoever initially mentioned them on the thread...thanks!

The elusive batch finally made it to your area. Still no signs of it in my area (apart from T2 which has been $5 for ages). Every time I ask an employee about a random 1 of the elusive titles on the list the answer I get back is usually it's not in their inventory system or all stores show 0. I figured if any Target store in the country carried it, it should at least show up in their inventory system as 0, but sometimes I wonder if the employees know how to spell or type (since they won't let me look at the screen).

Re: TARGET Blu-ray bargains

I just stopped by the Target at Northwest Highway and Skillman in Dallas. I was looking for The Doors and spoke to an employee that was very helpful. She said the only store showing any inventory was the Target in Mesquite. She also said that if I wanted it, be sure to ask them about it because it should be in their back room since they were discontinuing that title. Just an FYI....be sure to ask. Wasn't going to spend $8 in gas going to get a $5 movie.....there is one in Mesquite if anyone wants The Doors.

I am not even sure it is by area. One of my stores has every single one of these $5 titles. Another has about half and two others have none. I have NO idea how it is decided which stores get what product.

Re: TARGET Blu-ray bargains

I just saw this thread 2 days ago and decided on a whim to pass by my Target fully expecting that none of them would be available. Lo and behold they had ALL the titles! The only one that was out of stock was Highlander. Thanks for posting about this deal, I felt like I was already in Black Friday heaven (I wound up buying 19 titles)!

Was this the first time you checked your Target for these titles or were they not there previously and suddenly showed up? I'm hoping it's the latter and that they will miraculously appear at one of mine (before the 30 days is up to return the same ones I bought at Fry's for $6.99).

Re: TARGET Blu-ray bargains

Finally made it back (a month later!) and picked up a few titles. Highlander 2 was no longer $5, which I had passed on before, but now regret. Another title that was not mentioned is Planet Hulk (which I remember not being sure if it was $5 or not, for some reason). Anyway picked up 6 more titles, most of which I don't own on DVD and some that were OOS when I was there last.

These seem to be online only, was just at the store and they're regular price. I did see a few on sale:

Fair Game 7.99
Forrest Gump 9.99
Get Him to the Greek 9.99
all the Bourne movies 9.99

And most have a high shipping charge per title unless you have the "Red" card (a Target specific credit card I assume which I don't have) or you order $50 or more of the select "free shipping eligible titles" (of which there weren't enough I wanted to get me anywhere near $50). You can filter on just free shipping titles, but unfortunately I didn't see any way of filtering out DVDs.

Re: TARGET Blu-ray bargains

Yeah, just noticed the hard way that most of the online exclusive blu-ray sale titles don't qualify for free shipping even with $50 in your cart. Lame.

Did you scan them? The Bourne movies were marked $9.99 at my Target this morning.

Is that Fast Five Blu strictly an online price?

Manzana, a Target RED card saves you 5% on every purchase and is well worth having.

Agreed, but unfortunately you can't order stuff online until you receive the card in the mail. The temporary only works in store. So that saved me $25. Or it cost me $2, cause I'll probably get Bridesmaids from Best Buy for $12.

It is, and if you don't want another credit card you can choose the debit card option.

Re: TARGET Blu-ray bargains

Wanted to get:
Skyline [Blu-ray] $7.99
Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog [Blu-ray] $3.99
Cloak and Dagger/The Wizard Double Feature $3.99

But shipping was much much too much.

Maybe Amazon will match.

Yeah

My store finally put out the $5 movies. It was strange the section had $4.75, $5 and $9.99 titles. Unfortunately I wanted Highlander 2 but was $9.99 and scanned at the same price.
