Beware of Se7en Bluray Digitbook @ Bestbuy

This week Best Buy has a shipper of bluray sales $19.99 (some digiibooks were exorcist, 300, Se7en).

I bought one of each, but when I got home and opened them; Se7en had no disc in the package.

Took it back today and went to exchange it at the customer service desk, grabbed a new one off the shipper and IT WAS EMPTY TOO.

I watched as the sales associate opened all 7 of the bluray digibooks of Se7en; 6 of them had no disc.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up!

That sucks. Was it from a new batch?

I got mine this past Sunday at best buy near me. The disc was included in mine. There was only 1 left after I bought it, but when I went back on Tuesday, I saw like 10 more copies. Error might be from the new shipment.

Haven't you heard this is a new way of saving manufacturing costs? Just like those eco cases which have less plastic material and cost a fraction less to ship, or like leaving out the paper inserts to save a penny or two on printing costs, by leaving out the discs completely they save more money on shipping costs by lowering the weight, and even more money by not having to manufacture the discs in the first place!

Just kidding. :-)

Not a bad idea. How often do we buy discs just to have them sit shrink-wrapped on the shelf unwatched. Studios should just send out the cases so collectors can look like they own the movie.

What does this have to do with a bargain?

It's a legitimate warning. And even though I didn't buy it, thanks OP.

Assuming that it is a spoiler for the movie (not sure since I haven't watched it before) then that is a major dick move. Yeah, he put the comment in a spoiler box but this was about DVD packaging, we had no way of knowing he was going to spoil part of the movie.

It's a cute gag and was hardly done out of maliciousness and is not a major xxxx move. Like you pointed out, it was in a spoiler tag which is what they're for. Click on a spoiler tag at your own peril. Besides, it's not like this is a brand new movie, it's ending is sort of already out there, like "Psycho." I'd imagine most folks reading this thread and debating the purchase of this title have already seen the movie.

No one twists your arm to click a spoiler. We shouldn't even be having this discussion.

Calm down. Se7en came out in 1995 so if you haven't seen it by now and know the ending chances are you aren't going to.

Then why would you click a spoiler?

Because his post seemed like it would be a joke. I honestly expected it to say that there was a disc inside or something like that. I just think he should have put a note that the spoiler was related to the movie.

I think it's pretty widely accepted that once a movie is released, the statute of limitations on spoilers expires. Besides, the spoiler was inside a proper spoiler tag and everything. If someone who's never seen it clicked the spoiler tag, that's their own fault.
