I have all the Season of Smallville, 7 and 8 on BR.

So, I have been waiting 6 months for the price to drop to $24.99, that is the price I picked the other two up for.


Planet Earth and Tangled I am also going to purchase, looking forward to next week.

Note that Planet Earth is more than likely the Discovery version with Oprah on narration, if that matters to anyone.

It should matter. Not only have I read that the narration content is inferior to David Attenborough, but that the episodes are cut/edited. I have nothing personal against Sigourney or Oprah's voices... just the content and preferring to hear a good British voice for documentaries.

I also expect it won't be the BBC version on sale at BB.

Hmmm. I already have Planet Earth on HD-DVD :rip:, but at that price, I should probably grab the Blu version as well. I'm still kicking myself for missing out on the Red-To-Blue promotion.

I don't know about jumping on John Adams since he's dead and that would be disrespectful, but I don't have to jump on planet earth because I already live on it.

Seriously, though, I bought John Adams on BD for $22.99 at Amazon during BF '09. It's a great series and makes me wish we had leaders like those nowadays (i.e. people who believe in individual liberty, personal responsibility, and the Constitution). I also have Planet Earth on HD-DVD and I'm not sure if $24.99 + tax is cheap enough to get me to "upgrade" to BD. I'll think about it.

If you're talking about the brief time period when it was either $9.95 or $14.95, that lasted maybe 2 days (it died moment before I tried to order Planet Earth), was gone for many months, and then came back at a higher price ($19.95 or $24.95 I think). I haven't checked red2blu for a long time.

Hmm...I think I'm going to pass on Planet Earth. I do have the DVD which has more extras. Plus, the last time I checked, best buy near me didn't carry the BBC version. I will wait until it goes under $20

Planet Earth is a steal at that price

and I highly recommend John Adams to everyone, though I'll probably pass because I just watched the series a week ago.
