Picked this up at Walmart the other night and it was indeed $12. Funny thing is I didn't see a space for it on the shelf. All of the ones I saw were sitting in Unstoppable's spot.

That is disheartening, but thanks for saving me all the drive time and hassle. I still hold out hope Dorman Centre (Sptbg) will get it. They usually get alot of good catalog titles. It's where I picked up All About Eve.

I may head over there tonight, and I'll report what I find (If I go, I've been ill. But, this could be the cure...)

Some promising news for us Sptbg/G-ville people. I headed to the Greer Wal-Mart late last night and there was a shelf tag but no stock. Actually that whole area (the $12-$15 catalog titles section) was empty, leading me to believe that they haven't put the stock out yet.

It actually took me three stores to find one that had a shelf space for it. There weren't any copies so I asked one of the guys that I know has worked there for awhile if he knew if any copies were in the store. He went over there and scanned the barcode and said he would go in the back and look. Less than 5 minutes later he came out with a copy. It didn't have a slip cover though and I'm not 100% sure if it is even supposed to have one but I didn't care so I happily paid for it. So if there isn't a copy on the shelf look around for an employee that appears to know what they're talking about and ask them to help you find a copy.

And while you're at it, find that needle in the haystack.

You've gotta know who to ask. If you have frequented a particular location you might know who the workers are that care.

Sorry, I'm not going to hang out in Wal-mart long enough to get to know the trolls who work there.

Huh? I found it at the 68th and Memorial store. They had a spot for it and got a copy from the back.

I understand that some people that work there might be idiots but to generalize them as trolls is not nice. I actually feel like the Waltons are more trollish than the people that work at their stores.

Folks, I'm done. I went to the Dorman Centre Wally tonight (for you folks in the upstate SC) and they didn't have it. I wonder if there is a human brain behind which stores get what? Anyone, Anyone? So now... I patiently await the Amazon price drop.

Same here. I went back to the Greer Wal-Mart yesterday morning and all of the holes that I mentioned in my previous post were filled except for Stand By Me. And there wasn't an employee in sight to ask in regards to whether it sold out or if they just haven't stocked it.

I thought about going today to check but reconsidered and just went to Target to pick something up. The difference in the 2 stores is just striking. Both seemingly pull from the same class of employees but more often then not they are always friendly at Target, they actually have cashiers so the lines aren't long, it's clean. I just don't get it.

I've called plenty of times. I've never had a problem at the Walmarts in my area.

My Walmart (Oakbrook, IL) had one and I found it on some random display with no tag for it whatsoever.
