Memento 10th Anniversary $7.99 @ K-Mart B&M
Saw on blu ray com forums.
Went in to my local store and sure enough, back in their electronics section amongst random blu-ray disc sections, they had the new Memento 10th Anniversary BLU for $7.99 (marked on the sticker and rang up correctly).
Glad to get rid of my old Limited Edition - I couldn't take the menus on that set and supposedly the transfer has been nicely improved here.
K-mart, man what a D-U-M-P...but thanks for the deal.

This makes me wish I still had a K-mart near me. The one here closed down finally last year. I say "finally" because the place seemed like it should've shut down a long time ago.

If you have a Costco membership, they've got this and other titles (like American Psycho; see thread) for the same price. I just bought this last week. Very good transfer. Great bargain.

I'm shocked that the terribly stocked K-Mart in my town actually had this (and multiple copies, even). Thanks, OP.

Neither local K-marts had this in stock. One of the stores probably only had 15 titles on blu-ray, the other may have had 40 titles.

I actually managed my way through a K-Mart yesterday and they had numerous copies at $7.99 in stock.
They also had Echo Bridge BDs for $2.99 - $5.00. Maybe K-Mart will be the place to be when they start releasing Miramax titles.

Strange but they had the $7.99 price scribbled over and placed $14.99 over it. When they rang it up I was prepared for a good ol' fashion arguing session but it rang up at $7.99.What a great buy!!!!Thanks for the post.

Nope, I told them that in store, KMart had it for $7.99. They tried to call, but when it was taking too long, they went ahead and pricematched.

While I found Memento an interesting movie, it's not one I'd watch very often. In fact, I still haven't watched the chronological order version which I think would remove most of the interest/suspense and make it a rather average film. You could probably take any story, chop it up and play it out of order, and make that movie more interesting and confusing. It's OK here IMHO because the main character can't remember anything so the film is just imitating his confusion by confusing the viewer. When they jumble things up in other movies, I sometimes get annoyed, especially by the tendency of any action flick to start at a scene from the end and then flashback the whole movie to how did we get there... rather than accept I'm already watching the movie so it's not like you have to tease me with the end to get me to stay (unless it's a really boring movie).
I might upgrade my DVD to BD for the PQ for $5, but not at $8. Seriously, IIRC, the main reason I'd be tempted to upgrade Memento is in hopes that the BD does away with that nasty menu system on the DVD where you can't proceed unless you select or enter some codes. Does the BD still have this annoyance?

No joy at Grennwich Village NY store. The girl said that they had gotten in 2 copies and was surprised they were gone. Oh well.
I did find a couple of things I needed in housewares and hardware, though, so not a wasted trip.
(To echo some posts above: yeesh! What a lousy place to buy DVDs/Blu-rays. So disorganized.)
BTW, some time ago I found a nice navigation guide for the LE DVD of Memento. I formatted it for booklet printing and PDF'd it. If anyone wants a copy, PM me and I'll be glad to email it.

Re: Memento 10th Anniversary $7.99 @ K-Mart B&M
It's been a while since I've seen either version (although I probably will soon, since I did pick up the Blu-Ray), but I vaguely recall picking up a couple of minor plot points in the chronological version that I had missed in the backwards version (although I don't remember specifically what they were now ). I wouldn't say that the chronological version is "better", but seeing it later did add something to the overall film for me.

I would also say the upgrade in picture and audio more than justifies the price.
And the movie is never meant to be viewed in chronological order - it's just interesting extra on the DVD, nothing more. There shouldn't even be a discussion on which version is better, IMHO.
I finally picked up the copy from Kmart. Thank you for the post since I would never go to Kmart otherwise (Havene't been to Kmart in over 10 years)
And the place reconfirmed why I never go there. The place was incredibly unorganized with the workers more interested in talking among themselves than helping out. The workers didn't know about the title; they didn't know if they had it in stock; and just pointed to me where the movie section was and told me if it's not there, they don't have it. It was in such a mess. Nothing was in alphabetical order or in any category and DVD was mixed in with Blu-ray. It took me like 10 minutes to find the copy

Re: Memento 10th Anniversary $7.99 @ K-Mart B&M
I assume the $7.99 price at Kmart was a week long thing that is over now?
Hearing the Memento BD has a normal menu got me interested in buying it if it's still that price. I also have a Kmart/Sears gift card I'm trying to use up, so I unfortunately go to Kmart more than I'd like. I agree they are disorganized and it's very hard to get help or find anything. I often wonder how they stay in business. However, they do have some occasional sales that are good, and I've found a few gems on clearance. Sadly such deals are pretty rare now.
I'll definitely have to watch Memento in chronological order to see what that does to it.
