Yes, it would be really horrible if a Deep Discount bargain thread wouldn't be seen because of this thread.

The question is for how much.
Probably only $5.

I've seen $5 coupon mentioned a lot for Tangled lately...

Someone on Disney Movie Rewards Facebook page emailed them about a coupon, and the response email they got back mentioned "Tangled $5 coupon". Also next weeks Target and Toys R Us ads mention $5 off the 3D combo pack.

Agreed...however, if a 4-disc 3D Blu-ray pack comes to only 15$, that's still a pretty darn good deal, by any reasonable standards.

Truly disappointing. How dare Disney? We should all sue them for the emotional stress they inflict on us with this coupon.

How do you see the 4-Disc set going for $15 or even $20? I see it for $30 everywhere at the moment ($10 more than the 2-Disc set)

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

The coupon is confirmed as being $5.00.

It's being advertised in all of the flyers I received today. "Go online to Disney.com to print your $5.00 Tangled Blu Ray coupon" etc.

I still have my $21.99 4-disc preorder at Amazon. I just might stick with that.

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

annnnnnnnnnnnn, my buying of Disney blu rays new is at an end. my only incentive for buying them new was because of the $10 off coupons. I'll just buy at gohastings and my local pawn shop (I don't pay above $12 for a new blu )

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

I might hold off on Tangled if it's only $5. I think the Disneymovieclub price has potential to be way lower if we can get another 60% off offer.

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

Yep, it looks like the end of an era for great Disney prices. I was afraid of this. I thought that the $5 coupon that Target was pushing was probably just a link to the Disney coupon as they've done before, but it didn't make sense unless the Disney coupon was only $5. Looks like it will be that. But the question is if the $24.99 price is after the $5 coupon or not. Right now, it looks like the best we'll get is $19.99 or $24.99. I think I'll hold off, for now. Probably for the best, as I don't have much money, right now.

If the actual Target price is $24.99 as opposed to $29.99-$5 DMR coupon, I would hope Amazon plans on matching it, making the price $17.99 after coupon. Even if they don't drop the price, it's worth paying less than a buck more after tax just so I don't have to go digging around for a copy with a slipcover considering Target's reputation for tossing them and still getting it on release day.

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

Thanks for the link on the coupon. Disappointing that it's not the $10 we've become accustomed to. However, I'll use it on the 2disc version (never fails) and get it for $15 at Target.

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

I was at the Disney Store yesterday and they told me they are offering a $10 off your next purchase coupon when you pre-order Tangled. No minimum purchase, so it could be a $10 item for free. They also said the value goes up to a $20 off your next purchase if you spend I think a $40 minimum. I think the coupon is only valid for the next week or two though.

Their pre-order price was $24.99 but I can't remember which version...from their web site it appears the 2-disc Blu-Ray is $24.99 and the 3D one is $32.99. They said the Disney Rewards coupon could not be used on a pre-order, only if you buy it once it's in-stock, but then you wouldn't get the other offers.

They are also offering Tangled lithographs with the pre-order. I see here Target is giving away a Little Golden book with it and Walmart's web site has a vanity set with it. I also see on Best Buy's web site they have a plush Pascal for $6.99 coming out on the 29th, which I imagine will be involved in some kind of offer with the movie. Did I miss any other bonus offers?

I'm looking forward to this one. Definitely one of the most entertaining movies of last year and much better than the overhyped Toy Story 3.

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

Yeah, let me count the ways...faster-paced, much more character development, many more laughs, probably even better animation. These were some of the best-designed CGI cartoon humans I've ever seen. Making them somewhat more cartoonish-looking was risky but ending up working great, adding a lot of expressiveness to their personalities. This was also the best use of 3D I've ever seen in a cartoon. All the creative camera angles involving Rapunzel's hair probably helped out in that respect. Was it an absolute classic? Probably not because the last half hour or so starts to get more predictable and less inventive than the rest of it. But overall I think this was quite a magical rebirth for Disney animation, giving them a style all their own distinct from Pixar animation. I didn't for one second wish that the film had been done in hand-drawn animation instead.

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

I LOVED Tangled, but the songs were nothing short of abysmal. The song about dreams in the bar was decent, but just came off as a second rate "Belle," right down to how the scene was done. The main song was serviceable but ultimately forgettable. Then again, I thought the same about the tunes in the Princess and the Frog but came to enjoy them after the many viewings on BD.

On the flip side, Toy Story 3 suffered from the "been there, done that" syndrome but overcame that obstacle with the creative intro, the moving scene at the dump, and the highly emotional ending.

As fun as Tangled was, I have to give the edge to the toys.

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

Ugh, I see a Tangled cancellation in my future later today on Amazon, I just can't pay $22 for a non-box set release. Guaranteed this thing will be on eBay for $15 within a month. Best Buy has $29.99 as well for this so I don't know how likely it is that Amazon will match Target's $24.99.

Anyhow, always a matter of balancing holding out as long as you can against their locking up your order for shipment.............

Anyone know any tricks at getting past the "you've already printed your limit" message? Nothing came out of my printer and now it won't let me try again.
