Twilight Zone S1+S2, total $78.29 - DeepDiscount B1G1 Blu-ray Prez Day Sale

Thought some may find that a good bargain, if you can stand to deal with DD anymore. Nothing else on the B1G1 list excites me.

Re: Twilight Zone S1+S2, total $78.29 - DeepDiscount B1G1 Blu-ray Prez Day Sale

I don't know, under $40 a season looks like a pretty good deal to me. Of course I did not have any issues during the last B1G1 sale so that might have something to do with me risking it. Besides, the way it got added to my cart, S2 is in stock and marked as FREE, while S1 is out-of-stock and the one I'm being charged for.

I definitely won't sell my S1 and S2 definitive sets until these are in hand.

Re: Twilight Zone S1+S2, total $78.29 - DeepDiscount B1G1 Blu-ray Prez Day Sale

Wow, great deal. I recently bought S1, S2, and S3 in the B&N B2G1F sale. I paid $45 each for S1 and S2, but got S3 for free. If I hadn't got that deal, I'd be all over this one...

BTW, the definitive collections aren't worth much anymore. Brand new complete collections are only fetching $100 on Ebay, so don't expect to get much if you upgrade.

If the DVD Talk and other reviews are any indication, they are more than worth an upgrade.

Not expecting much. I don't like to go to much trouble, so I usually just use the Amazon trade program. $15 is the current trade in for the pair (S1 and S2). I might just give them to my brother or keep them for flexibility.

Holy shit, their prices are ridiculous. I dont even think I could place an order if the "glitch" was working.

So I ordered TZ S1 & S2 earlier this evening. Just now I went to check on the status and it is marked "CANCELLED". I should have known better than to deal with DD again

Re: Twilight Zone S1+S2, total $78.29 - DeepDiscount B1G1 Blu-ray Prez Day Sale

My order still says "open" and both titles are still in the list at the same price. I accepted the cancellation of the Batman and Matrix collections since they were pretty much too low to believe. But while the TZ S1 and S2 deal was probably the only really enticing one in the list, it is not a "to good to be true" type of deal. If this gets cancelled, I'll pretty much just skip DD going forward and stick with Amazon. I'm sure the first 3 seasons (or more) will show up in a "Gold Box" deal one of these days.

What's the deal with the really good sale items getting cancelled all of the sudden? It seems like several of the 2nd/3rd tier vendors have been caught doing this recently.

That is just a glitch in the system. I order earlier this week and it said cancelled but it shipped.

I figured I'd give it a try and ordered them both yesterday. I just got the shipping e-mail for S2 (the free one). S1 status is listed as "OPEN."

Their website says cancelled, but I just rec'd the shipping notice for season 2. Not sure what is up, but that is a great price for two seasons on blu-ray.

Having to reorder season one as I had a bad set originally and returned it after 4 weeks of waiting for Image to replace disc 4. I got the replacement and now I need the original set again. Good way to save money on these sets. Thanks DD.

Is it just me or is the site not allowing anyone to add anything to their cart?

I just tested it and it is working okay. I put both in my cart just to see.

Note, both are now listed as out of stock.

Re: Twilight Zone S1+S2, total $78.29 - DeepDiscount B1G1 Blu-ray Prez Day Sale

Was about to buy Season 1 and 2 of the Twilight Zone but now I'm reading that a lot of people are having issues with disc 1 and 4 of the first season. Apparently Image Entertainment has yet to acknowledge this issue. Some copies apparently work flawlessly and some are unable to play certain episodes.

Grrr.... this is such a good deal but I'm wondering if it's 1) Worth the hassle of buy it from Deep Discount and waiting 4 months for my copy and 2) Worth the hassle of potentially returning it to DD for another copy and probably waiting another couple of months.

From what I understand, People with defective disks have been getting replacements from Image now.

This is true. I received replacements for discs 1 & 4. Disc 4 still makes a hell of a noise when loading tho. But at least it finally loads.

If it helps any, I ordered mine from Amazon at the end of December and it works fine, so maybe it was just a problem with initial pressings?

Re: Twilight Zone S1+S2, total $78.29 - DeepDiscount B1G1 Blu-ray Prez Day Sale

I've had no problem with DD. About 3 titles from different orders were delayed, but that's because alot of people ordering from their sales. As long as I got them for the sale prices. The only two I bought with this sale are:

The Baader Meinhof Complex ($23.76)
Orlando (Free)

With the half prices for each, they're cheaper than Amazon. But some of their titles are outrageous: Becket for $23.76? It's $10.99 at Amazon.
