MovieStop Trade in 2 used blus* get new release free
I am surprised no one has posted this yet (at least I couldn't find it).
For those of you fortunate enough to live close enough to a MovieStop, they are running a promotion right now where you can trade in 2 blu-rays for a new release blu-ray. The 2 trade-in blus have to have a trade in value of at least $4. You have to trade for the new release prior to its release date. If your blus don't meet the $4 requirement, I believe you can still do their trade in 3 used blus for a new release.
The new releases available include:
Due Date
Mega Mind
127 Hours
The Fighter
Tangled
Black Swan
Tron
Harry Potter
The new releases (I traded in for the first 6) include versions with the blu/dvd/digital copy, where available.
I hope this helps some, as this is one of the best trade in deals I have come across, and it is certainly the best blu-ray trade in I know.

Re: MovieStop Trade in 2 used blus* get new release free
Technically it's not that great of a deal unless you have free blurays lying over. If you paid 10 dollars for a blu and then you got rid of 2 of them, you essentially paid 20 dollars for this movie. Now if you feel comfortable with that that's cool but I honestly rather trade a bluray for another movie I want.
Though i have some extra blus I could trade Moviestop is too far away for me to bother.

If you have the opportunity to trade blu-ray for blu-ray straight up, that's great (and if you can get a brand new release for a used blu-ray that obviously beats this deal). I used to trade on these forums before the good trader list was invented, but making the arrangements and paying for shipping etc. was a pain for me...
Also, you don't necessarily have to have blu-rays "lying around". For example, Best Buy recently had a 2-pack of Click and 50 First Dates for $12.99. I know that each of these titles qualified. I think many on these boards would like it if they could pick up a new release title for $12.99 (especially titles that have $50 MSRPs)...but to each his own

I would do this, even I had a MovieStop in WI. I have some used BD's I bought for cheap that I don't want to keep. It would be worth it to trade in those for a new release.

A week or two ago when this deal first started a friend of mine went to BJs and picked up some $3.00 Blus with the coupons.com coupons. He then traded them in at MovieStop and got some new titles through this deal. So brand new titles for $6.00 each. Not too shabby. It was a great deal. Its a shame that those coupons are now gone. And also a shame I don't have a MovieStop near me so I could have joined in.

Went to moviestop today 8 blurays and they gave me $12 each for credit. I got Due Date, Faster, Jackass 3 and asked if they Tron was included which it was. So the 2 extra blurays were put towards the Tron boxset. The price in the system was $54.99 but the guy said its usually cheaper closer towards the street date. I didn't ask about Walking Dead so its possible that they may be included. Not sure the price so it probably take 3-4 blurays traded in for Walking Dead. They also had alot of $5.99 and 9.99 blurays.

So four TV show Blu's and 3 movies for four new releases. Think you got a ripped quite a bit. The deal is def worth it if you can score some cheap Blu's from pawn shops or the 2 for $10 packs at Wally World.

Zack and miri was 8.99 on amazon at one point, saw 5 can be had for 5 bucks easily. Shaun of the dead is usually 9.99. The 3 weeds seasons were 7.99 or 9.99 on black friday, not sure which. Mad Men was like 13 bucks at one point and not sure about the last
He didn't lose as much as you think I'm sure.
Wish I had one of these near me. I have a bunch of blu's that I don't watch anymore I would trade in.

WTF. Why are there no MovieStops in Texas when GameStop is based in Grapevine, TX.
Used to go to the one in Orlando all the times.

Or he traded stuff he simply doesn't care to own anymore vs a new release he wants more. I'm the same way, my collection is always in motion. Moviestop has a ton of my movies

Re: MovieStop Trade in 2 used blus* get new release free
FYI - Movie stop is offering 50% more in trade this weekend to director's club members ($14.99 a year, which also gives you a year subscription to Entertainment Weekly, 10% additional on trade ins, and 10% of used merchandise).
They are also having a buy 2 get 1 free sale on used blus (and dvds) if you are a director's club member. They also stacked the 10% discount on top of that. I was able to get 9 used blu-rays for just over $50.
The 50% extra also helps with the trade in program. I was able to trade in 2 blus that did not meet the $4 requirement previously to get another free new release.
I believe both specials are only good through this weekend.
They have added a few titles to the trade in 3 program, but they are not part of the trade in 2 program (yet?) - this includes king's speech, green hornet, and true grit...
