I was over at blu-ray.com and noticed in their bargains thread that Target has quietly released several MGM catalog Blu-Rays at a $9.99 price point. They are:
A Fistful of Dollars
For a Few Dollars More
The Magnificent Seven
Overboard
Honeymoon in Vegas
The Cutting Edge
Four Weddings and a Funeral (thanks cwwallace!)

Some Targets have in them at an endcap, or some, like mine in Wareham, MA, had them mixed in by genre in their regular Blu-Ray Section.

Picked up Honeymoon in Vegas today. It was so nice to upgrade by pan and scan DVD that I've had for over a dozen years or so.

Just great, another Target exclusive like Goonies that I can run to every Target withing 60 miles and not find. Store exclusive is bad enough but time after time many of the stores either had very little stock or none at all.

Overboard? I assume this is the Goldie Hawn/Kurt Russell comedy. If so, my dvd has been in need of replacement (I think the DVD was non-anamoprhic) and is an easy pick on blu for $10.

I bought Four Weddings yesterday and watched last night.
I was pleased with the transfer considering the $9.99 price.
The 5.1 lossless audio was a definite improvement over the DVD.
It's always been a favorite of mine so a no brainer on the upgrade for me.

Extras are the same as the 2006 special edition.

How was the image quality on this one? I have the special edition that was released in 2006 (I think). I might have to bite on it if it is indeed $9.99.

This one has definite replay value as I've seen it close to ten times (including several on old VHS tape.

I'll check and see if they have it at the Target near my house.

Yep, this one has a lot of replay to me as well.

For a 17 year old movie shot on a shoe string budget I thought it looked very good. Close-ups looked very good but distant shots of scenery and such seemed a little soft at times.

All in all on my 60" Kuro it had a very film like look.

If you like the movie I don't think you will be disappointed at all.

Just don't expect that razor sharp new release look about it.

Just noticed I typed 1996 Special Edition, it was as you noted from 2006.

Thank you!!! I got the last one within 100 miles of me in northern California, so any others will have to be 50 miles south of San Francisco at the least. Isn't this crazy? I had no idea Four Weddings was out in blu-ray. Target Corp had a hard time finding me the one.... Argh

It seems they just dropped with no sort of announcement. They just started showing up at some Targets the latter part of last week. My local store just got them out on Tuesday. They were just mixed in with the regular Blu's in the racks.

Got the last copy of Overboard at my Target, they were also out of Cutting Edge. However, the rest of them they had two or three copies of each. This was in Houston.

And I had to work like crazy to find one Four Weddings in the entire Sacramento--San Francisco corridor. Have to do a detour on the way to Tahoe to pick it up. Strange distribution. My Targets hadn't even heard of the disks or deal.

Sorry about that, I do remember looking at that one briefly, the one I went to had two. BTW, for whoever wanted to know extras for Overboard, there are none, just a trailer. Also, I had taken off a month doing reviews for the site I write on and now I'm back on so to speak and awaiting a shipment from my website. I'll try to slide in Overboard either this weekend or over the next week. Since it's an exclusive, I don't think he'll have any issue of me posting it up on the site. Expect Kurt Russell fan-boyism just a little bit :)
