Selected Blu Rays 50% off at Borders.com

Borders.com has some decent Blu ray deals that are 50% off.

http://www.borders.com/online/store/...id=SL_20110111

Valid 1/11/11 - 1/13/11. Use promo code FIFTYBLU at checkout.

Even with tax and shipping, many still beat Amazon by a couple of bucks.

Shrek the Whole Story, and Piranha 3D are both excellent prices. Even better for me since I have Rewards Plus. Alas, I bought both already and can't return them... But there are some other deals I'm considering. Thanks for the post...

Meh. Nothing for me. Slightly annoying that some of the titles say they are Blu-ray in the title and DVD in the description (see In Cold Blood).

Great deal...I just have this gut instinct we'll see Shrek The Whole Story for $15.99 BF 2011 :)

Am I missing something? $15.99 for four Blu-rays? Unless it's a price mistake, I highly doubt that'll happen.

I snagged a couple I'd been holding off on and also Planes, Trains and Automobiles, thinking, 'Sweet, I didn't even know that had been released on Blu-ray and it's only $4.20 after discounts!' Yeah, it hasn't been released and, double checking my order, it appears to just be the DVD. Borders apparently doesn't allow you to cancel items once an order's placed, so I'll have to return that one to a store.

Did you see any of the BD prices last Black Friday? Tons of seasons of TV on BD for about $10, $12 Austin Powers sets, tons of $20 box sets too.

It could very well happen.

I want to get the Social Network and Resident Evil, not a bad deal at about $25. However when I go to the Resident Evil After life page it says:
List Price: $31.99
Your Price: $24.99
(save: $7.00 22%)

But when I add it to my cart it's listed at $31.99. Anyone else experience this?

I doubt it. I think the Austin Powers one was Warner clearing out supply for release of the individual releases... So maybe in a couple of years when Paramount decides to release the other 3 Shrek BDs on its own that might happen but not this year.

Unfortunately, the 50% off is from the list price, so the new releases aren't very good deals after all. But still some nice prices - I might pick up An Education.

It's weird cause with Social Network and RE Afterlife in cart it shows the discount as -$24.99 which would be off the $24.99 point. If they were each $31.99 the discount would be around $32 for the two of them. So I'm not sure whats going on.

Borders coupons are always taken off the list price, not the sale price. So it's 50% off of 31.99, not 24.99.

Basically, it is giving you a discount that, when added to the original discount, becomes a total of 50% off. Look on the bottom of the cart where it says in RED "You saved $xx.xx". That should show you 50% of the price was discounted.
An example: Dinner for Schmucks is $38.99 retail, so should be $19.50. It is on sale for $29.99. The coupon gives an additional discount of $10.50, thus bringing the price down to $19.49. It says "Total Saved $19.50" in RED, which is correct. It's just a weird way of showing the discounts.

LOL maybe not 15.99...but I am willing to bet 19.99-24.99 :)

Unless it's a SUPER good deal...I can hold out till BF2011!!

I bought Monster House 3D. For $13.xx plus tax, I figured what the hell (I had $5 in Borders Bucks to blow, plus have Rewards Plus). I'm always looking to build my 3D collection for a good price...

I probably would've bought Monster House BD for $13.xx, but when I looked and saw a price of $40+ before the 50% off, I read further and see that you used $5 in Borders Bucks + Rewards. Oh well. As usual, nothing for me at Borders.
