Inception 1-Disc Version @Best Buy??

It sounds like the $14.99 Inception that Best Buy is selling this week is a 1-Disc version.

Does anyone know what we lose from buying the 1-disc vs. 2-disc? Do we lose the special features or just the digital and DVD copies?

I can only find details on the 2-disc version:

Disc 1
  • Movie
  • Extraction Mode: Infiltrate the movie's imaginative landscape to learn how Christopher Nolan, Leonardo DiCaprio, and the cast and crew designed and achieved the film's signature moments
Disc 2
  • Dreams: Cinema of the Subconscious: Can the dream world be a fully functional parallel reality? Joseph Gordon-Levitt and leading scientists take you to the cutting edge of dream research
  • Inception: The Cobol Job: Comic prologue in full animation and motion: see the events that led to the beginning of the movie
  • 5.1 soundtrack selections from Hans Zimmer's versatile score
  • Conceptual art, promotional art, and trailer/TV spot galleries
  • Via BD-Live: Project Somnacin--Confidential Files: Access highly secure files that reveal the inception of the dream-share technology

Yes... But what's on it? Is it only the movie with no special features?

The DVD/Digital copy came on a 3rd disc. Haven't seen reviews for the 1 disc version but yes, you're likely getting the barebones movie only just like many rental discs these days.

I wish they wouldn't even release 1 disc editions. If you want the film with all the bonus features you do have to avoid this release. The second disc is not simply a DVD/DC.

Regarding the price, I bet the two disc set will hit $15 in no time anyway. It's just a matter of waiting a few more weeks.

It's Disc 1 from the 3 disc set. It has whatever special features Disc 1 has in that set. Perhaps you should just look at the back of the box?

Thanks for the wise ass suggestion!! Brilliant idea!! However, since I won't be going to a Best Buy or Target within the next 2 days that isn't possible, which is why I posted the question to the group.

DVD Empire often has the back of DVDs and Blu's on their site. That's where I go to see back cover art.

Should have read the original post more clearly. Nothing to see, move along.

I have the three disc. AFAIK, the DC is *not* on any disc. This evening, I was actually trying to look for the DC on the DVD and it was not there. I then noticed there is a slip sheet with a website and unique code to download the DC.

And today is Tuesday - the deal runs till Saturday. So in two days, Thursday, you'll know for sure. Or, as I said, it's just Disc 1 from the 3 disc set. So whatever is on Disc 1, is in this edition.

Where does it say it is a one-disc? Couldn't it just be a two-disc, without the DVD?

The 1 disc is a Best Buy exclusive. It's a 1 disc.

Re: Inception 1-Disc Version @Best Buy??

Well I'm holding the one-disc copy in my hands and it lists special features completely different to the 3-disc version:
- The Inception of Inception - Christopher Nolan Shapes His Usual Concepts for the Movie
- The Japanese Castle: The Dream Is Collapsing - Creating and Destroying the Castle Sets
- Constructing Paradoxical Architecture - Designing the Staircase to Nowhere
- The Freight Train - Constructing the Street-Faring Express Train

Those are all apart of the Extraction Mode on the three-disc

I don't think the 1 disc is just exclusive to Best Buy since I saw it in Walmart yesterday as well.
