What to do, what to do?

I'm only buying it once on Blu. Do I make it this one or wait for one of the numerous re-releases.

Not happy with spoilers for episodes III and VI on the Amazon Editorial Review.

Considering this will probably be THE big Blu-Ray title everyone is after next holiday season, I think I'll hold out for Thanksgiving/Christmas sales.

They don't charge your credit card until the items ship right? I always forget...

Could be or couldn't be. Alien didn't go down during the holidays, and sometimes they do preorder gift prices which is after a week they'll put it up high again and if you got it at the early price you get to keep that price.

can't hurt to pre-order at that price and then just cancel if a better deal comes along.

That's my thought process exactly. Just ordered... Ken Benobi must have this during release week. Whatever the best deal is then, will suffice for me.

The two trilogies can also be ordered separate for 1 penny less (copied from the Amazon bargains thread):

I'm going to go with the assumption that there will be something included in the 6 film box set that you can't get if buying the trilogy sets, so I'm sticking with the 6-film box set.

But without the 3 bonus discs, right?

Exactly what I was about to post. The complete set has 3 discs of bonus content for a total of 9 discs while the 2 trilogy sets are 3 discs each.

Oh, screw that! I did not realize that information was already announced. I hadn't heard...

I will hold out since Alien Anthology did have better pricing than originally on pre-order. Even the uk set went for a great price later on.

Not a must have from day1 but that's just me.

Are there details on the bonus content included yet?

Anyone know if it will include the original theatrical versions? I suspect not, but thought I'd ask.

It was announced earlier in 2010 that the Blu-ray would contain the "Special Editions". I suppose some were hoping the theatrical versions would be included as well but I think it's safe to say that isn't the case or it would have been mentioned in the press release.
I haven't followed the controversy so I don't even know the differences between the 2 versions.

Seriously? The original version is purely old fashion, though very realistic, models and special effects. The new version has a lot of obvious, though often amazing, CGI. Some of the changes are horrible Jar Jar Binks quality alterations (like Han shooting first, or the little singing monster). Others are fairly harmless (like extra ships or aliens during space or crowd scenes). However, those that grew up on the theatrical version look at the alterations like adding detail to the Mona Lisa.
