3D BLU RAY PANASONIC DMP-BDT100 + 3D AVATAR MIR BONUS at $158 at AMAZON

Searched, didn't find. Sorry if a repost.

Shamelessly stolen from FT. Credit goes to REB07.

Amazon has this 3D player which is perfect for Mitsubishi 3d TV at $155 + FS.

This deal used to be exclusive for purchasers of Panasonic TVs only.

The Avatar 3d sells for around $50 at Ebay. If you don't need the disc do the math and you can have a wonderful network 3d player for a song.

Herre is the link: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003ZXE87A/ref=nosim/?tag=fatwalletcom&linkCode=as1[/URL] (add it to your cart).

If you want this deal, I suggest you hurry. The price went up $3 as I was writing this post.

Thanks for the heads up!

I've seen the Avatar 3D Blu-Ray consistently go for $100-140 on Ebay, so if you don't care for the movie you can basically pay for the player :)

Yes, but it takes up to 2 months to receive the disc, so what price Ebay will command by that time is everyone's guess.

Still, I expect it will be sufficient enough to offset the price of the unit considerably.

the avatar 3d blu ray requires a mail in rebate, and it takes between 6-8 weeks.

Is there a benefit to using a Panasonic player like this with a Mitsubishi TV, versus using the Mitsubishi adapter? I know the Panny can output Checkerboard, but will the quality be better if the conversion is done in the player, vs the adapter?

Not when Avatar 3D will now be given away to tens of thousands of people. Probably about $40-70 when all these new BD Player owners try and sell their copies. The market will get saturated. The Shrek 4 disc set is only selling for about $110-$140 now, which is pretty much retail if each disc sold for $30. Avatar has already dropped like a rock and eBay is only going to get more and more...

The Shrek set is now no longer exclusive, and Dreamworks can sell it in retail whenever they want to (which won't be for a while anyway since they don't have a ton of faith in 3D BD. Megamind will be a Samsung exclusive).

Iam wondering if its worth it to order the player to get the mail in offer for avatar then turn around and sell the player.

Btw. Someone on fatwallet said the same player could be had at some other site for about $25 less and the MIR still works with that deal too.

Thanks for posting this. I have been wanting to move into 3D but have been putting it off since my Samsung LED DLP isn't that old. With this I'll be able to get more life out of the TV without dropping another $1000.00+ just to watch some 3D Blu-ray movies.

Dunno about the $25 cheaper deal, but the only deal I see on fatwallet is from www.eastcoasttvs.com who is selling it for $139 shipped. However, they have some pretty sketchy reviews and a 124 page discussion thread here: http://www.highdefforum.com/high-def...t-tvs-123.html

I decided to go with a store I am familiar with. I got it at abesofmaine for $150.69 shipped. It is $149 + $9.90 shipping. Find something cheap to get you over $150 and there is a $10 off coupon (LOYALTY10). There is also a $11 off $175 coupon: ABES2011
Don't forget to use a cashback site... I think 2% is the best out there. So it will be $147 in the lost run. I'd rather pay an extra $8.50 to get it from a trustworthy store...

I doubt it would make much difference. I bought the BDT100 last month for my older Samsung TV. I'm pretty impressed with its performance. Initially, I did 3D from my PC to the TV using PowerDVD to output checkerboard but it wasn't very smooth.

Thanks. I was initially thinking of trying to use my PC as well, but ruled it out just for inconvenience. I'm glad to hear it may not have been a great method...
I'm sorry to hear you bought the BDT100 before they started giving Avatar away with purchase. That sucks...

Try calling. All they can say is "no." Have had surprising luck with this approach over the years.

I'm gonna try anyway. Worst they can do is decline. Besides, I'm sure we haven't seen the last retail release of Avatar. So far, I really like this machine. I've streamed some movies from Netflix and Amazon On Demand as well. I've been very satisfied with the quality, ease of use, etc. It was much easier to get the 3D working than it was with my computer as well.

That sounds good to me! I look forward to having the ability to get Amazon on Demand in HD, without watching on my computer. My Tivo letterboxes the amazon stuff in 4x3 format, which royally blows...

Good luck getting your free Avatar! I agree that we'll see a future retail release, but you might as well try for the freebie...

UPDATE:

I received the player yesterday and watched Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 3d with my 6 yo. I gotta tell you - my kid was blown out of the water, and I was never too far behind. The depth is unbelievable to the point of my kid kicking and screaming "daddy get them out of my house" - all in good fun, of course. If you have a large enough screen (I've got 65) and watch it in a dark room, I swear you will sometimes forget you're not in the theater. Best part - no need for $300+ 3d starter kit, no need to buy a separate emitter or anything. I seriously doubt the picture can get any better with any other setup, but then I'm not a videophile, of course. I can't wait for Avatar to arrive. I did watch it at the theater, so I will have something to compare it with.

Here is my setup: Mitsubishi 65 C10, DMP BDT-100, and a pair of Ultra-Heaven glasses.

The price is up to 168 on amazon now, still a decent price. I am very much debating still getting the player So i can get Avatar 3D then turning around and selling the player.

I thought about this, too. There's a lot of them on Ebay, but I suppose it should net $100 or so...
