These are Canadian versions (Alliance).

Park Chan-Wook's "Vengeance Trilogy"

- Slightly embossed cardoard case with 3 BR slim cases. No booklet but same PQ and special features as US release. Plus, "OldBoy" has the lossless track which the US release seems to be missing. So if you don't care about the packaging, this could be a good deal.

"Millenium Trilogy" (Based on the trilogy by Stieg Larsson)

- Since this is NOT ENGLISH FRIENDLY, it's only a good deal for those who understand Swedish or can read french subs.

Who said the Millenium Trilogy doesn't have English subs?

DVDBEAVER reviewed the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Blu from Alliance and said it has English subs, along with pics of the picture showing the subs....

So Is the trilogy different, and if so where do you see that?

I would get the trilogy but the subs would have to be there for sure.

Any info I don't have?
thanks

The special features are the same, I'm not sure what you mean by "digital extras". BDLive?

The english versions are ports from Universal. There is currently no boxset for those. Prior to that however, Alliance released French versions of all three films (Swedish audio, French audio, French subs). Taking "Dragon Tatoo" as an example, what you get in this boxset is this:

NOT this:

I don't know why people assume that garbage site is the end all be all. it's just a copy paste, a few crappy screengrabs for the fools who think that's how you judge video, and put a new cover on there.

Thanks for the heads-up on this. Keep in mind that the version you receive might actually be this one, which is the one I've seen in virtually every store here in Toronto:

Alliance appears to have made a ton of these, so that price may very soon become the norm, as they're stuff rarely stays highly priced for long.

"Garbage site" may be a bit strong, but I do agree that it's not as interesting or as useful as it once was. Screen grabs are still nice for a quick visual.

good price, but with shipping to US, no real difference to US online retailers...

Shipping definitely kills it for US members. $10 for shipping is ridiculous. I think it costs less shipping from Amazon UK.

hahaha smells like a 12 year old who is still waiting for his balls to drop.

Look, 'cool new member' go somewhere else so your high pitched squeal doesn't bother the actual humans of this site.

And btw, saying 'owned' is really moronic. I mean, it's what fat kids who sit in their parents basements say while playing a video game that makes them forget they are a total waste of life. So, I'd loose that if I were you...

BTW- thanks excentris. Appreciate it.

No problem. The point was to answer the question asked, not to "own" anyone.

I know shipping is high but sometimes people have family of friends in Canada so I thought I'd post that lukewarm deal anyway.

I just realized I now have 4 different versions of OldBoy. I think that's a record for me.

Vengeance Trilogy is still a pretty good deal, although I agree that their shipping charges are ridiculous. My order came to about $30. The cheapest I can find the US release is $40 and it doesn't have a lossless audio track on Oldboy, which I want. So it is worth it for me, however I hope those of you who have suggested that the Amazon CA cover art might be wrong are right. I prefer the blue case.
