$9.99 Discovery Channel Blu-ray Seasons at Staples!!

I have come across these three full season shows:
  • Build It Bigger: Season 6
  • Deadliest Catch: Season 3
  • Sunrise Earth

Has anyone seen any others? I just saw Deadliest Catch and Sunrise Earth today at a Staples in NYC.

I was wondering the same thing. I passed on it because I knew nothing about the show. I did buy Deadliest Catch though.

Sunrise Earth is just a nat sound footage of different places around the world. It's not a documentary, just cool looking HD footage. I remember it being on HD Theater and I would turn it over ther when I first got HD thinking how cool it was to have it on in the background. Kind of like having a window open to that world and its sounds. There's no narration or anything involved. Think of those videos that have just a fireplace or an aquarium, but with scenic shots. Pretty much the same thing.

I went to my local Staples last night and they only had 2 copies Deadliest Catch: Season 3. I couldn't pass up that awesome deal so I bought a copy. No luck with the other two titles. I'll go to another Stables this weekend and hopefully they will have the other two.

These titles are marked down to $4.99 now at the Staples locations around me. That plus the 20% off one item card that Staples has been mailing out to promote their "rewards club" or somesuch meant I got Deadliest Catch for $3.99. There's an episode where a boat goes down and three guys die - it follows the rescue team as they're pulling corpses out of the water. That one's worth the price right there.

If these are marked down to $4.99 at my local Staples, I'd certainly be interested. Thanks for the heads up.

Is there a printable version of that coupon, by the way?

No, it was more like a one-use gift card attached to a mail insert.

Stopped by my local Staples. Not a BD to be found. But there are DVDs but who buys those? :D

stopped by local Staples in Houston with 15% coupon in hand. They had no DVDs or BRs at all. Said they were sent back after Christmas.

So season 3 is the only season of Deadliest Catch on Blu Ray?

got Deadliest Catch S3 BD for $4.99...didn't have that 20% off coupon. But got a whole bunch of other DVD's and CD's for about $2.50 - $4...all were marked 50% off until 1/31/11

I have Sunrise Earth on HD-DVD. This is all footage with the natural ambient sounds recorded. There's no narrative. Its a different way of enjoying a documentary style filming. For $4.99, I'd get it - certainly video demo material for your HD-TV

They had several BDs at my Staples, but I didn't see any 50% off signs. Maybe I'll look more closely next time to see if I can find this Sunrise Earth if it's on sale under $5. I saw the Deadliest Catch S3 BD there, but a quick look at some reviews provided me with 2 key words that are immediate "abort" on buying or watching anything: "reality show". I never have watched a reality TV show (and don't plan to). Besides believing that reality shows are mostly staged (i.e. not reality) but just sloppily produced fiction, I can't take the frequent shaky handheld camera work where they love to zoom in on someone's shoes or ear while they talk as if I care. Who in Hollyweird made Steadycams, camera dollies and tripods practically illegal in the last decade? I only know this because I'm sometimes exposed to these shows that other people are watching while I'm in the room and though I do my best to avert my eyes, I can't completely.
