Not sure how many people will be wanting to get this movie but in anycase here is the link for Disneys 10.00 off coupon for Step Up 3D, via Step Up 3D's my space page.

Not a movie I personally will be getting but its cool that Disney is definately continuing with Day and Date 3D bluray releases.

As of right now, Target has the lowest price at $29.99 for the BD+BD 3D+DVD+DC combo pack.

I know I'll be buying it tomorrow. Easily one of the most underrated flicks of 2010.

Ultimate Electronics has it for $28.95

Still too pricey. If it was $10 after the coupon I would do it.

Wish they had a cheaper release w/o the 3D as I don't have that and most likely never will.

Oh well

Greg

EDIT - Nevermind I just discovered that there is a BR only release, duh.

I'm trying to buy a lot of 3-D titles for my new TV, but I just can't picture myself buying this one... Maybe I'll rent it if I can, but I'm sure I won't watch it more than once...

Agreed. It's very underrated and it's kinda sad since it's a fantastic 3D movie.

You'll be surprised how rewatchable this movie is. Honestly, I wanted to see this movie like 5 times in theaters after my first viewing but since I'm a cheap b@st@rd and 3D movies cost like over $10 to watch, once was enough.

Had to go to two different Targets to find one. The first location got one copy and the second only had one left. Since its a new format (the 3D Blu) they aren't stocking very many.

$21.61 out the door! :bdance: Thanks OP!

So you'd call it a worthy purchase mainly because of excellent 3-D, or is it a good film as well? Anyone know if it was shot in 3D, or was it a conversion?

The coupon is only valid for the 3D release, not the regular release. However, my friend successfully used it on the regular version today at Target. Most cashiers don't read the coupons...

Do you have to sign up to myspace to print the coupon? Asking since the site won't load properly on my itouch. Also, is there a limit on printouts?

98% sure it was shot in 3D. I remember it being called Step Up 3D before it was being filmed (it was mentioned on So You Think You Can Dance). And I remember seeing some special on the making of the movie that showed how difficult it was to dance in water, but they wanted the splashes to better display the 3D effects.

I heard that one of the directors of photography was on the Avatar crew and got permission Cameron himself to use the cameras. It was shot in 3-D.

Yeah it was originally concieved to be in 3D from the begining, but originally it was called "STEP UP 3: DEE" i kid you not. Originally the main character was written as a female whos name happened to be "DEE" and as the Disney exec at the 2009 L.A. Roadshow who had the misfortune of hypeing this up for for a theatre full of manufacturing execs(the road show is a annual meeting where studios talk about or show clips of movies they are trying to get merchandising partners for) by saying the title was a hip play on words cause its the 3rd movie in the franchise, and our Heorine's name is DEE and the movie is going to be in 3D, get it Step Up 3: Dee.

and yes most of the people in the audience groaned as well.

I read somewhere that "Step Up 4-Ever (in 3-D)" has been greenlit for a Fall 2012 release.

Step Up 3 made $160M (domestic and international).

I'm sure we'll hear more on upcoming seasons of SYTYCD.

Hmm...how would I put this. If you go in knowing what you're in for, it's a good movie. That is to say the film delivers in the dancing and 3D aspect. That's the only reason to see this film. If you go in expecting a cliched-free plot, then no, it's not a good movie.

This was incredible in the theater because of the dancing in 3D. Don't know if it would be as great at home and with no 3D.

Re: $10.00 off coupon for Step Up 3D

When I first saw "Step Up 4-Ever in 3D" written, I read it as "Step Up 4D". I thought 3D was already being obsoleted as we move onto 4D. Yeah, I think I'll skip the whole 3D phase and wait for them to get 4D TVs and BDs. Obviously 4D is better than 3D, though technically it takes time to watch a 3D BD on your 3D TV, so they really are already in 4D.

Re: $10.00 off coupon for Step Up 3D

As I said in the Movie Talk thread, if Jon M. Chu doesn't return for Step Up 4, neither will I.

The BD has reference PQ/AQ on both the 2D and 3D discs. Lackluster extras aside, this is a quality set.
