Definitely won't hurt to lock in with Amazon. I'm bummed I didn't pre-order Bambi when they had it for $19.99. Trying to decide if I should pre-order it with Alice In Wonderland and save the $10 now.

Nobody's announcing anything. It's a placeholder listing. There has been no announcement and there is no release date.

Somewhere I read an April 12th, 2011 release date (but not on Amazon). I guess Amazon feels confident committing to a price for this even though it's just a placeholder listing. This may be the first item I can recall ordering that didn't have a release date listed. I know when I ordered Bambi for $14.99, its release date was listed.

Which is why many people placed their Bambi orders right away knowing that Amazon would probably remove the coupon someday, and you never know if or when it's coming back. Whenever I see anything at Amazon, I never assume the price will last more than 1 day and sometimes not even a couple hours. With distant preorders, it's always a no brainer to place the preorder right away. It's more difficult with in-stock stuff because it'll ship instantly and you'll have to return/rebuy (or beg for an adjustment) if the price drops later.

That's what I figured. Really enjoyed the movie and will probably pick it up eventually, so cashed in on the coupon now and can always cancel. Worst thing that could happen is it will actually ship for $22 for a massive combo.

So, yesterday, I got an e-mail from Amazon with a link for Tangled. I figured I'd check it out to see what the price was. It was down from $29.99 to $27.99. Is it safe to assume that those of us who pre-ordered it will get it for $27.99 (before the $8.00 coupon)? When I checked my order online, it still showed at $21.99 ($29.99 - $8.00 coupon).

Good catch! I would like to know the answer to this as well. Do we need to email them to adjust the price, or does their pre-order guarantee truly work and will discount this $2 once it ships?

In the past, the price adjustment was made and then the coupon applied. I'm confident that Amazon will be consistent.

It looks like the $27.99 price is for the 2-Disc BD/DVD version, not the 4-Disc Combo. AFAIK, the $8 coupon from Amazon only applied to the 4-Disc version. That price is still $29.99.

I also noticed this promo now, to save $10 on another title when you pre-order Tangled. BATB is only $14.99. It would be nice to get it for 5 bucks. I'm tempted to order one, and quickly email customer service to see if they will adjust it, even though it is in a separate order from Tangled...
