Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut $36 at WBshop

Re: Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut $36 at WBshop
Just price dropped about 15 minutes ago. I added it to my cart at 48. I thought the discount of 37 was AFTER WB Insider Members and I almost hit submit.
It then went down to 37 (28 for Insider Members). Free shipping over $50, 8% back through e b a t e s.
Most I've ever paid for a single movie. Didn't realize it was so expensive on the secondary market.

You have to be in WB Insider / Rewards progam.

just sign up with the same email you use for your WB purchases and the discount should appear.

Re: Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut $36 at WBshop
Just tried ordering over the phone, and the woman told me that this is currently back-ordered (and won't be able to arrive before Christmas). Was able to use one of the $5 off coupons that WBshop sent me and the order total came to $29xx. Let's hope this one goes through for me, this is the second time for me trying to order this from them.

wasn't already an "insider." They have some decent deals from time to time.
I sure wish I had time to research some other titles to get free shipping, it pains me anytime I order something without free shipping. Oh well. As someone else mentioned, I think this will be about the most I've ever paid for a non-collectible/non-TV series title.
I'm a little skeptical whether this order will go through only because it hasn't been available on Amazon (or other places) for a while. Fingers crossed.

FYI...bump your order over $30 and you should be able to get free shipping via code FREESHIP.

That's a great deal, however, as it's not the same version as the one in the Ultimate Cut and does not contain all the extras in the Ultimate Cut set, some people might want both.

Re: Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut $36 at WBshop
There was the Theatrical version followed by the the 24 minute longer Director's Cut.
The Ultimate Cut weaves the Tales of the Black Freighter animation into the movie thus making it more faithful to the novel but also considerably longer.
As far as extras not included with the Director's Cut... I'm aware of 2 new commentaries: one from Zack Snyder and one from Dave Gibbons. And the set also includes The Complete Motion Comics which was sold separately.

I forgot to add...
If you want all versions and all extras you will need the Ultimate Cut and the Director's Cut. The Ultimate Cut set includes a digital copy but only of the Theatrical version. Now that I think about it, the DC is probably expired anyway.

Ha, I was wondering the same thing!
Why on earth would anyone even READ a thread about a movie where you wanted to rip your eyes out, let alone post in one, saying you are considering a purchase of said movie for a toy that's included with it? Who would ever want a memento of a movie that inspired the desire to rip your eyes out?

^ Don't think any of the pipe dreams will ship. WB is either delusional or stupid. From what I gather they will end up keeping the order listed but never do anything.
Wish they would though.

Re: Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut $36 at WBshop
A couple of days ago I sent a request to have my oder cancelled as I bought the SD version at FYE for 13.50 plus tax. I'm fine having The Complete Story on SD to go with the Director's Cut BD.

Re: Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut $36 at WBshop
I've had my Ultimate Watchmen BD set on backorder for going on a month. She said they ARE getting them but they are filling them as they get them. Further she said that some orders that were CANCELED had been reinstated and those people were getting the first shot. I asked her why mine hadn't gotten reinstated and she said, "I have no idea how they chose who to reinstate."
The lady was really honest and forthcoming, and she admitted they made several mistakes with my order, so she's probably telling the truth. (Like billing me without sending the order to the warehouse, meaning it wouldn't have gotten shipped until someone did that even though I paid. And how I had five orders on hold that should have been shipped by now, even though they were in the warehouse.)
The worst part about this is that they ADVERTISED this set as one of their "12 days of Christmas" sale items. Not to actually have it in stock is pure nuts.
