I actually use this trick fairly often but didn't realize they'd stopped the update feature before Christmas. Glad they restored it.

Might put another title or two in my cart and see if they pop up in the gold box.

Agreed. Bought during Black Friday for $11.49 and it was worth more than that IMO.

Great transfer, jam-packed with extras, some old, some new. Anyone who's been holding out should jump now.

Seriously tempted by some of the $7.99 Sony titles. Can't believe The Natural going for that price. Amazon, I love you but you are killing me here.

Got "The Goonies" today, they did send out the mixup (Ya Amazon). Also House Season 6 they did ship me the Blu-Ray set ($14.99). On both I was not sure they would ship them being that it was a pricing error.

Re: Amazon Discounts and Deals Thread #7 (is it #7? I'll pretend it is)

I picked up The Natural for $7.99, one of my favorite movies growing up! I know this is the Blu-ray bargains forum, but I also picked up Parenthood S1 for $9.99 and Dexter S4 for $14.99 on DVD. Pretty good prices and Parenthood isn't actually on Blu-ray (yet). Just thought I would mention it. Blasphemy, I know.

Oh, really? How do you know for sure? Not doubting your knowledge or anything, just curious. Isn't the show doing well on NBC?

I picked up House Season 6 (29.99) and The Office Season 6 (19.99) on BD and also got 30 Rock season 4 (18.49) and How I Met Your Mother season 5 (14.99) on DVD today. I also got Parenthood Season 1 and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 5 for 9.99 each on DVD when they first went on sale.

All these deals are really helping me get my TV collections up to date. Granted, 29.99 isnt THAT great of a deal for House but it's pretty good when you consider it was around 45 bucks before it came down. Figured I'd better grab it before it shoots back up.

Agreed. Normally, I'm blu-ray all the way, but sometimes it's more economical to get the DVD set if it's significantly cheaper. However, I would say this really only applies to TV shows for me.

OH...oh..we here on DVDtalk...KNOW......

on topic:

I really wish that Kung Fu Hustle on BD would the HK cut of the film. The digital removal of some blood and some minute shots is stupid. It's omission doesn't harm the film but..it's reason for omission is stupid. I wish US studios would just leave shit alone and understand that the people will like it as long as it's a "good" film...which this film really fucking is.

I'm in for Planet 51. The kids wanted to see that last Christmas, but I wasn't about to spend $50 for the theater experience. $9 on BD ain't bad.

Ha ha! I should've known better than to question Gizmo. I've been on here for a long time, but I really don't post that often. Maybe there was an announcement that it wasn't ever coming out on blu-ray or something. Although, you would think that they would've put it out when the DVD released this past summer. Strange.
