For these prices, anyone who has any love at all for classic film should jump on this right away, if they don't already own it.

Great film and a really nice package to boot, complete with booklet, lobby cards, and DVD copy of the film. A steal for what Target and amazon are asking.

Justified: The Complete First Season has dropped to $19.99. I have never seen this show but have had it on my wish list due to good word of mouth. Can anyone speak on the quality of this show? I have heard the format is procedural, as opposed to serialized, which kind of turns me off.

Have not seen the show, however, I believe with the trade in program at Best Buy where you get a $5 coupon, 'Justified' can be had for $14.99.

Brilliant show, brilliant price. Go for it.

I'm an Elmore Leonard fan and I dig it. Heck, Elmore digs it and he has some strong opinions about what based on his work works (Jackie Brown, Out of Sight) and what absolutely does not (The Big Bounce).

I'm seen it for the last two months at this price. I pass being I thought I own the DVD. Turn out I did not. Great movie, lots of extras and a cheap price. Glad I bought it.

Are you sure about that?
I've had Blu-ray of "RCOM" in my Amazon Cart for months, and I've never had it drop to $17.99 (even when many did during the recent Criterion sale at Amazon).

If I remember correctly, Drq2 was the benefit of some amazing Amazon customer service. Apparently he emailed them about RCOM and that it wasn't part of the sale. A special link later, and he got it for $17.99. Personally, I got it for $24 and some change in like-new condition and feel satisfied. Pays to watch the third party section like a hawk sometimes

I love the show. The closest shows I can think of in terms of tone is Burn Notice & Terriers (if that helps any). I'm surprised the show does as well as it does in ratings since it is smarter then the average program.

I wouldn't call it a procedural, it's not really about how they solve crimes, it's character driven. It starts off with stand alone episodes, but the last 4 or five episodes become highly serialized, which ties into the beginning of the season. I'd compare it to the storytelling style of a Joss Whedon show. Several stand alone episodes that lead up to a final story arc. Either way, its damn fine television.

I agree with your analysis of Justified: Season 1. I found the characters very interesting and the stories not at all predictable (at least to me).

I blind bought it in January because of the WoM here and very much enjoyed it. I have since sold Season 1 and am looking forward to Season 2.

I appreciate you mentioning that: the one I listed is the re-release. With so many titles, trying to memorize and flag every re-release is impractical. I have to assume that people will do their homework before blindly assuming that a "new low" price is a good deal. Sometimes there are older releases that are cheaper, as in this case.
