It's Megamind + How to Train Your Dragon for $36.98 - free $10 Amazon gift card shipped to you = $26.98 net for both. You can see the promo on the Megamind BD page. That's a price I could live with. I have it in my cart, but the only thing stopping me from placing the order is the consistently bad reviews of the aliasing/shimmering on Megamind. I'm not sure if it's not as bad as people say or if I'll be unable to stand the aliasing or if Dreamworks will do a free swap for a corrected version.

It's weird too that the Amazon $10 gift cards I could find say they are sold by some other company (ACI), and it made me go through lots of screens before reaching the last page rather than take me to the final page immediately.

Yes, but as they have many, many times in the past, Asylum chose that specific title ton confuse people.

Yes, but they intentionally named the movie that, in order to get people to think it's the other movie. Pretty much all of Global Asylum's movies are rip-offs of major Hollywood movies:

Paranormal Entity
Haunting of Winchester House
Street Racer
Snakes on a Train
Universal Soldiers

The list goes on and on. They make these cheap ripoffs, and release them straight to DVD around the same time as the actual Hollywood movie comes out, hoping they can capitolize on the profits. Sadly, I think this tactic must actually be working, since they apparently can afford to keep doing this.

In spite of the universal negative reviews about aliasing in Megamind's video (well, except for 1 site which didn't mention the aliasing problems), I ended up ordering both too considering I wanted HTTYD and it's basically $13.50 each. I'm hoping Megamind won't be as awful as everyone says, and if it is hopefully the DVD in the combo pack will be better than the BD (that's a weird concept). Some reviews say the aliasing is constant and distracting. Other reviews say it's mild and only on certain horizontal objects in certain scenes. Unfortunately there are no screen captures or HD video captures to look at.

I'm hoping (if it's that bad) that Dreamworks does an exchange on Megamind for free (like they did on Gladiator). The funny thing is I bought the first Gladiator release, read all of the reviews about the terrible picture quality, then watched it, and I wasn't able to notice the problems, so I never bothered with the exchange. I think aliasing will be more noticeable than EE, color palette or grain (or whatever the Gladiator issues were).
